Phineas and Ferb is an Emmy-nominated Disney Channel animated television series that centers on two stepbrothers and their beyond-the-impossible adventures in their backyard during summer vacation. The series premiered on February 1, 2008 as the first Disney Channel Original Series (DCOS) to premiere simultaneously worldwide. The show's official U.S. premieres were marketed as Phineas and Ferb-uary, due to new episodes being shown every day during the month of February. A sneak peak of the second season was shown January 23, 2009, as the episode "Tip of the Day," on Toon Disney.

Origins

Creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh met as layout artists on The Simpsons in the mid-1990s, where they sat across from each other as layout artists on that series. They bonded over a shared sense of humor and were eventually paired as a writing team on Rocko's Modern Life for Nickelodeon where they learned more and more aspects of the animation production business. [1]

It was during this time that the pair started to develop a show that would allow them to continue working together as writers.[1] At the Wild Thyme restaurant in South Pasadena, California, where they have butcher paper over the tables and crayons for you to draw with, Povenmire was sharing a meal with his wife when he drew the first sketch of a triangle-headed kid. Povenmire called Marsh that evening and told him the news: he had Phineas.[2]

All the other characters grew from that simple triangle-headed kid. Phineas is a triangle, Ferb is a rectangle, and Candace is a half-circle. Then they decided to work geometric shapes into the background to tie the whole thing together. Marsh describes this homage to legendary Looney Tunes animator/director Tex Avery, "There's a little bit of Tex Avery in there — he had that very graphic style [in his later cartoons]. A lot of what I see now is borrowed from Tex."[2]

The Family Guy Connection

Povenmire and Marsh were no longer working together. Marsh had moved to London to work on an assortment of films and series including Postman Pat and Bounty Hamster. Povenmire had started animating and directing Family Guy episodes, but continued to shop the show around to Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Fox Kids.[1]

Studios were worried about the complexity of the plots for the time allowed. At Fox, there were a few meetings, but negotiations fizzled out. Nickelodeon kept sending it up higher and higher in the production personnel ranks, but it was eventually deemed too complicated to pull off. Their stubbornness and persistence paid off when Povenmire finally got a meeting with Disney.[1] According to Povenmire, "Disney was the first to say, 'Let's see if you can do it in 11 minutes.' We did it in the pilot and they said, 'Let's see if you can do it for 26 episodes.'" [3]

Disney Channel's Senior VP of Original Series Adam Bonnet was a fan of Family Guy and wasn't scared off by Povenmire's work on the series. In fact, it was because of his connections to the primetime Fox animated sitcom known for its gross-out gags and raunchy humor that Bonnet wanted to see whatever Povenmire was working on. Povenmire recalls about Bonnet, "He called me for a meeting when I was working on a different pilot for them just to tell me how much he liked Family Guy. When I came back to pitch my own show, I think he was more open to it."[3]

Povenmire brought "some of that primetime animation timing without any of the raunch" to Phineas and Ferb. In fact, many of the blank stares and sight gags have a primetime and Tex Avery charm to them. "People think Family Guy is a success because of how raunchy the gags are. I don't think it would have been a success at all if the timing wasn't absolutely crystal pitch perfect -- if there wasn't just the right amount of pause before or after the line. Comedy is all about timing and I think that's what people are responding to."[3]

Original Story Pitch

Unlike non-animated series, they didn't show them a script, they pitched a storyboard. A storyboard is a scene-by-scene visual breakdown of how the episode would look. When it came time to present it to the executives overseas, Povenmire edited the storyboards together into a film, adding music, sound effects and providing the voices for all the characters. This animatic can be found on the Phineas and Ferb: The Fast and the Phineas DVD.

Main Plot and Characters

The main plot focuses on Phineas and Ferb, two young children bent on making their summer vacation a "roller coaster" (as seen in the first episode.) A minor scenario involves Candace attempting to bust her brothers, which always fails. The other major element involves Secret Agent P (Perry the Platypus) and Dr. Doofenshmirtz in a good-versus-evil subplot.

Phineas Flynn (Vincent Martella) and Ferb Fletcher (Thomas Sangster) are two stepbrothers who live with their older sister Candace Flynn (Ashley Tisdale) and their parents Linda Flynn (Caroline Rhea) and Lawrence Fletcher (Richard O'Brien). The brothers find themselves wondering what to do with their summer vacation, so they pull off unbelievable and often outlandish stunts (i.e. making a movie, getting a band back together, racing cars, making a space observatory, etc.), in order to add excitement to their vacation. Their sister Candace is aware of their unusual activities and is often pictured attempting to reveal their activities to their mother.

Agent P sub-plot

Phineas and Ferb's pet, who is named Perry the Platypus (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker), has a secret identity under which he uses the alias "Agent P." Normally, Perry's first appearance in an episode is after a character (most commonly Phineas) notices his absence, and usually responds to his absence by saying "Hey, where's Perry?" After the question is asked, the scene generally advances to a scene where Perry enters secret chutes or entrances that provide transport to an underground agency headquarters where he receives instructions, via a monitor, from his superior Major Monogram (Jeff "Swampy" Marsh). Major Monogram then assigns Perry a mission that generally involves Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire), and his nefarious (usually unsuccessful) plans to wreak havoc on the "entire Tri-State area."

A majority of the Perry subplot involves him battling Dr. Doofenshmirtz in knowingly hackneyed fashion. Agent P. always ends up being captured in a booby trap set by Dr. Doofenshmirtz, but usually escapes. Inevitably, these battles take place in close proximity to the unknowing Phineas and Ferb, who are in the midst of their daily activities, and generally aid in the removal of all evidence related to what they were doing before Candace can show her mother.

The subplot ends in Perry's return, back in his disguise as "pet," usually ending with the line, "Oh, there you are Perry."

Candace sub-plot

Occasionally, there are subplots relating to Candace during the stories. They generally involve either Candace (voiced by Ashley Tisdale) speaking to or spending time with her friend Stacy (voiced by Kelly Hu), or attempting to win the attention of Jeremy (voiced by Mitchel Musso) on whom she is fixated. These subplots take place intermittently with Candace's many attempts to disable Phineas and Ferb's activities, which are always unsuccessful since all the proof is either removed or destroyed. Despite this, the story usually ends on a happy note for Candace, with Jeremy confirming in some way or another that he likes her. Phineas & Ferb seem to bear no ill-will towards their sister, often attempting to include her in their adventures; in one instance they even carved her face into Mount Rushmore as a birthday present.

Running Gags

Whatcha doin'?- First said by Isabella, but also said by other characters on the show like Baljeet who tried to copy Isabella, as well such as Norm and Phineas. Other variations of the gag are "What cha eatin'?" said by Isabella, and "Whatcha watchin'?" said by Phineas.

I know what we're gonna do today- First said by Phineas, but also said by Candace, and Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz. This is said at least once in every episode.

Hey, Where's Perry?- Is said in every episode, by any given character on the show. Right after it is said, the scene cuts to Perry going into a secret entrance and into his lair for another assignment. The line, "Oh, there you are Perry," is generally spoken toward the end of every episode once Perry has completed his secret agent mission and rejoins Phineas and Ferb.

Candace and Vanessa- Another running gag is the fact that Candace Flynn, and Vanessa Doofenshmirtz are almost exactly parallel to each other. Candace tries to bust Phineas and Ferb when they do their crazy activities by telling her mother while Vanessa tries to bust Dr Heinz Doofenshmirtz and reveal to her mother that Heinz is evil. But both have no luck at all.

Aren't you a little young to be a ...- First asked of Phineas, to which he replied, "Yes, yes I am." This running gag has been asked in various forms and to various characters in many different situations. Including asking if people are a little old to be something.

Ahhhh, very un(adjective)--and by un(same adjective)I mean completely (same adjective)- Doofenshmirtz's greeting when Perry breaks into his hideout, such as "Ahhhh, how unexpected--and by unexpected I mean completely expected!"

In hindsight, I question even...- Doofenshmirtz's line involving anything odd about his inventions or possessions, for instance the inclusion of a prominent self-destruct button.

Curse you Perry the Platypus!- Shouted by Doofenshmirtz after Perry thwarts his schemes. It's been varied to different forms of "(verb) you (name) the (noun)!", such as Phineas saying "Bless you Perry the Platypus!" when he sneezed in the episode "Hail Doofania!"

Behold the (something)Inator Said by Doofenshmirtz when he shows Perry his inventions.

Characters

Main

  • Phineas Flynn - Phineas is a creative 8 year old boy inspired to make the summer as great as it can be by coming up with ideas for unusual, exciting, and sometimes impossible activities. Phineas is also shown to have a wide array of musical abilities and can play many different instruments. His stepbrother, Ferb, is his partner in their activities. He loves his sister Candace, and often tries to please or help her, as in putting her face on Mount Rushmore for her birthday, making her tree house better, or helping her learn how to drive. However, he usually and accidentally upsets her with his schemes. He has a normal relationship with his mom and his step-dad. He often wonders about the whereabouts of his pet platypus Perry. A current theme is when people ask if he is too young to be working on his current project to which he almost always responds, "Yes, yes I am.". A variation can be found in the episode, 'Out to Launch' where Candace asks if her butt looks too big and he replies, "Yes, yes it does." His friend, Isabella, has a strong crush on him, though he seems not to notice. Compared with his closest friends, he's the shortest in the group, being 4ft. and 3in.It also seems that Phineas is a good singer..
  • Ferb Fletcher - Ferb is Phineas's intelligent but laconic stepbrother from Britain. Ferb is a very quiet boy, but he is not exactly shy. He is incredibly brilliant and has a great sense of mechanics & electronics. He almost single-handedly built a roller coaster and a giant track, a real radio-controlled race car, several arenas and stadiums, a space ray, a monster truck, and a time machine. He is always willing to help Phineas in his incredible plans, no matter what the circumstances are. In the series, Ferb almost always speaks at the end of each episode for a few seconds. Whenever the usually reticent Ferb talks, it is most often a one-liner. Ferb has a British accent. Ferb is talented at changing his voice. When he sings (which is often), he usually uses a deep,T-Pain voice instead. In the episode "I Scream, You Scream," he is shown to have a crush on Vanessa Doofenshmirtz, the daughter of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz. Like Phineas, Ferb is also talented and can play a large variety of instruments, which include trumpet, rock n roll drums, harmonica, and Jamaican drums. Ferb is also shown to have a knack for rollerskating. He's 4ft. 7in.
  • Candace Flynn - Candace is fifteen years old and entering tenth grade. She is always aware of the boys' plans. She is generally a spoil-sport and always attempts to get the boys in trouble with their mom. But when she finally gets her mother's attention to see what they are doing they appear innocent and normal on account of the unaccounted doings of Perry the Platypus and Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Candace nurtures a permanent crush on Jeremy. In a sense, she is the exact opposite of her brothers, being terribly afraid of heights and easily getting sick or dizzy. She has a "Panic Room" in their basement to hide in when she freaks out on account of her brothers' tricks. While Candace is constantly angry at her brothers, there are indications that underneath she loves them. In "Traffic Cam Caper" she saves Phineas at the expense of losing the evidence(though that was only after she had lost the evidence anyway), and in the episode "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together" she gives Phineas a big smile and a hug. In "It's A Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World" she cannot tell on her brothers, presumably because they were helping her, maybe because her stepfather was present. Candace is good at singing (even when her voice changes due to an allergic reaction to wild parsnips) and can play a number of instruments, all of which begin with the letter "B". She is also the only character that has seen Perry as a secret agent but at the time believed to be under the effect of wild moss. It is also a constant gag that Candace falls very long distances. She remarks on this in the episode "S'winter" while she falls down a mountain, saying "Why...does...this...keep happening to me?!?". Candace usually wears a red and white dress but sometimes wears a t shirt and jeans. In "Phineas And Ferb Get Busted" she finally succeeds in busting her brothers, but misses her brothers and decides to rescue them from military school.
  • Perry the Platypus - Perry is Phineas's pet platypus and Protagonist, who lives a parallel life as a secret agent. He has a lair under the Flynn-Fletcher's house that can be entered through various passages around the house. His nemesis is the evil scientist Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, and Perry always accomplishes his missions to stop the doctor's evil designs and plans. His missions end up covering up evidence of Phineas and Ferb's activities by accident, therefore the boys' mom never finds out about their schemes and antics. While Perry never says anything throughout the show, he can make a growling and blubbering noise or teeth chattering that he uses at significant times. Perry works for his boss Major Monogram - who appears to be a stern, hard-boiled spy master. Perry is equipped with many hi-tech gadgets and instruments, including whistles that call certain animals, a grappling hook gun, a parachute, several guns, a pocket helicopter, a jet-pack etc. He also can drive a scooter and has his own flying car and jet pack. Perry wears a little brown fedora while he goes on his missions. Being 4 platypus years, he was adopted June 5, 2004. Perry has his own theme song called "Perry the Platypus". In one episode, the boys stumble on to Perry's headquarters and his missions by accident, but they do not discover his secret identity. This is evident since after this episode, they never mention again the existence of the secret hideout. Usually, whenever Phineas says, "Hey, where's Perry?", Perry changes from pet into a secret agent and starts his mission. At the end of the mission he returns to his normal identity at which time Phineas says, "Oh, there you are, Perry." The most witty recurring gag of the show is the oft-repeated remark about Phineas saying "He's a platypus, they don't do much". Also, Perry the platypus never shows feelings on his face when he isn't on duty (as a part of his cover-identity as a mindless, domestic pet).It is also shown that he loves Phineas and Ferb in "Journey to the Center of Candace", where Doofenshmirtz said he would destroy anyone who doesn't make up their mind.
  • Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz - Doofenshmirtz is a divorced and very unhappy man. Who is also a mad scientist and Main Antagonist. His ultimate plight leads the viewers to empathize with him. He is the head of his own single-person company, Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated (Which is mentioned in a singsong way whenever it appears). His lair appears to be a standard major corporation, and even has its own company's theme song. All his evil plans tend to be thwarted by Perry the Platypus. The Doctor has turned evil because of his unhappy, unprovided and sad childhood in an unknown European town named "Druselstein," and also references Doofenstein, perhaps the state he lived in, where his family were poor farmers and he was forced to be a lawn gnome. Doofenshmirtz was born in the month of June, as his birthday occurs in the episode "Raging Bully", and his parents never showed up for his birthday. Coming from this background, presently he attempts to wreak havoc across "the entire tri-state area,". He is divorced and his ex-wife, Charlene, actually pays him alimony. He has a teenage daughter named Vanessa who is less-than-thrilled with him or his schemes. She constantly tries to "bust" her father, like Candace tries to bust her brothers. His elder brother Roger—the favorite of their mother—is a respected politician in Danville and holds the mayoral post. Heinz is not really a doctor, as pointed out by his daughter, as his Doctorate Degree has a $15 price tag on it. Doofenshmirtz seems to have an active love life, since in "I, Brobot," he has relationship problems with his "new" girlfriend, and leaves a ton of pathetic messages on her answering machine. In "Get That Bigfoot Outta My Face!," he has a date with a woman he met online, but Perry gets caught in the middle of it and ends up stealing all of the attention away from Doofenshmirtz. In the same episode, he mentions that wasn't his worst date, because there was one who kept stabbing him with a fork sometime ago. He also has the weird habit of adding "-inator" at the end of most of his evil invention's names—with the exception of "Shrinkspheria" as seen in Mom's Birthday. But the strangest of his habits is the building in of the undo or self-destruct button in most of his inventions, which Perry usually eventually finds and uses to defeat Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Often he tells Perry which button to not hit. Perry gives Doofenshmirtz a sarcastic look, and presses the button. His catchphrase is "Curse you Perry the Platypus!" The Password on his computer is "Doofalicious"

Major

  • Isabella Garcia-Shapiro - Best friend of Phineas and Ferb. She's also the leader of the Fireside Girls. She can change her voice as Ferb can, and often assists the boys in their plans, enlisting the whole troop of girls in the process (often to obtain new badges or other credits related to the scouts). She is also a big fan of the boys and their plots, particularly Phineas, who she has a crush on. This is given further confirmation by the fact that she invites Phineas to the dance in the episode, 'Out to Launch.' In the episode 'One Good Scare Ought to Do It!' it is revealed that her biggest fear is losing Phineas. She always enters into the scene with the catchphrase "What'cha doin'?" and usually offers help from the Fireside Girls. However, it is unclear whether or not Phineas is aware of her crush and may likely be avoiding that, although he appears to return her feelings. She sings well, as demonstrated in the episodes "Flop Starz". She has a hairless pet chihuahua named Pinky who appears to have a nervous condition and prefers to eat grilled cheese sandwiches. Despite the fact she's the leader of the Scout troop, she rarely wears a uniform even when commanding the troop.
  • Linda Flynn - Mother to Phineas and Candace, stepmother to Ferb. She is married to Lawrence Fletcher, but she seems not to use his last name as most other characters called her "Ms. Flynn" except was once called "Mrs. Fletcher" by Isabella in "Candace Loses Her Head". Linda is portrayed as a regular American mother, although she plays in a free form jazz band with Isabella and Jeremy's mothers, and was once a one hit wonder pop star under the name 'Lindana' in the 80's, although she seems to hide this information from others. She is generally busy or trying to relax when her daughter tries to get her to see that the boys are up to some crazy plan. Linda seems to think Candace is crazy and needs professional help. When the boys reveal their schemes and accomplishments she thinks they have an "overactive" yet "adorable" imagination.
  • Lawrence Fletcher - The father of Ferb, stepfather of Phineas and Candace. Lawrence is an archaeologist from the United Kingdom. He keeps his treasured memories in a toolbox. It has been shown how he agrees to follow Phineas' instructions and even forces Candace to cooperate, as if he considers Phineas' and Ferb's skills normal. In most episodes, he seems to be completely ignorant of any unusual behavior. He is a kind, gentle, accepting parent, if perhaps a bit clueless.

Secondary

  • Vanessa Doofenshmirtz - Vanessa is Dr. Doofenshmirtz's 16 year old teenage daughter. She is very sarcastic and mild-mannered. Her dad and mom are divorced. Vanessa is aware that Doofenshmirtz is an evil scientist and knows her father's enemy, Perry The Platypus. Her character's relationship to Dr. Doofenshmirtz is like that of Candace's relationship to Phineas and Ferb as they both want "bust" their brothers/father. A curious detail to note about her is that Perry and Vanessa seem to be completely invisible to each other, despite the fact that Dr. Doofenshmirtz constantly introduces her as his "evil assistant". Vanessa is shown not to care for Perry's presence in any way. By coincidence, Candace often crashes, lands, yells or even travels next to Vanessa, but have only met twice. Though she does try to reveal her father, she still loves him deep down. Vanessa has a close friend named Lacey (coincidentally rhyming with Stacy, Candace's friend). In the episode "Dude, We're Getting The Band Back Together". Coincidentally, we find out that Vanessa's crush is Johnny (almost like Jeremy, Candace's crush) which we find out in the same episode. Vanessa thanks Perry the Platypus for fixing her 16th birthday by having Doofensmirtz shoot all the decorations with a ray gun. Ferb appears to have had a temporary crush on Vanessa, as revealed in the episode "I Scream, You Scream."
  • Jeremy Johnson - Jeremy is Candace's secret crush. Whenever activities are going on in the Fletcher house, he goes to visit just to enjoy the activity. In several incredible coincidences, whenever Candace moves from one location to another, he gets a new job near her at the nearby "Mr. Slushy Dawg." He is part of a band, "Jeremy and the Incidentals," as seen in the episode "The Best Lazy Day Ever." In an interview with Mitchel Musso, the artist who does Jeremy's voice in the English version of the show, he revealed that Jeremy returns Candace's feelings for him, but in the series the only hints about it are his constant presence around her and a few minimal details that manifest a personal interest in Candace (he has asked Candace out a few times, and held her hand at least once). He also has a deep fondness for Perry.
  • Suzy Johnson - Suzy is Jeremy's little 3 year old baby sister, and Candace's nemesis. She refers to herself as Jeremy's "favorite girl" and deeply resents his relationship with Candace. She goes out of her way, as long as Jeremy isn't looking, to make Candace miserable. She is far smarter than her age or appearance would suggest, but works to keep Jeremy from realizing this. Apparently while Jeremy is oblivious to this side of his sister's character others, beside Candace, have seen it, most notably Buford in "One Good Scare Ought to Do It."
  • Major Monogram - He is Perry the Platypus' boss and gives him missions to stop Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz's endless reign of terror upon the tri-state area. Major Monogram usually appears on a giant screen giving Perry instructions for his next mission, but it is revealed that he never wanted to be a major. He usually isn't wearing pants when he gives Perry his missions, but hides it by using close-ups.
  • Karl the Intern - The person who operates the camera for Major Monogram's secret hideout. He is a bit forgetful and sometimes fails to focus the camera, so we can see Monogram is secretly doing something humiliating that he's not supposed to do, after which he immediately says "Karl, cut to close up." Karl usually is in the back, out of sight, so most of the time his voice can only be heard while discussing or being scolded by Monogram. From time to time, he makes brief appearances interrupting Monogram's speeches. He occasionally goes undercover, once posing as a lady store clerk in the episode "I Scream, You Scream."
  • Stacy Hirano - Candace's very enthusiastic best friend. She rarely appears in person in the series, since most of the time she's talking by phone, but is usually Candace's companion when something very exciting happens. She is one of the few persons who knows the truth about the boys, although is never concerned about it. She usually convinces Candace to participate and enjoy the moment instead of trying to bust her brothers; in fact, in "Put That Putter Away" she was dispatched by an bed-ridden Candace to bust Phineas & Ferb, but wound up having so much fun with them that she forgot her mission and joined the boys. However, in one episode, Candace calls her on cellphone and her Mom answers. Her mother said she has her ears pierced that's why her voice is a little weird.
  • Jenny- last name uknown, she is one of Candace's friends, she barely appears in the show, showing her face once in "The Lawn Knome Beach Party of Terror" and often on Candace's cell phone. She has an orange dress that's covered in flowers, a sun hat, and long brown hair.
  • The Fireside Girls Troop 46231 - They are the local girl scout group guided by Isabella. They like music and never have been seen without a smile on their faces. They usually count on Phineas and Ferb to help get their badges. In the episode "The Fast and the Phineas" Isabella thanks one of the girls, calling her "Gretchen, portrayed by Ariel Winter"; besides this, no other personal information is known about the troop.
  • Buford Von Stom - He has a noticeable, Mid-Atlantic accent. He likes tough stuff, but is afraid of the most trivial things, as shown in "Raging Bully," in which ice-cream falls on his pants and he screams. It is frequently mentioned that everybody is afraid of him, but he really does not hurt anyone on-screen. He is present in the series more often as a good guy than as a bully, and for this reason receives frequent invitations from Phineas to join them in the fun. Buford owns a fish named Biff, after his mother.
  • Biff - Biff is a goldfish and Bufords best friend, Buford won him in a game of "Test Your Strength", and named him Biff after his mother. Biff almost got eaten by a bully and a giant squid, but Buford beat them both up in an act of friendship and anger.
  • Baljeet Patel - He is most likely from India's Punjab region, judging by his name. He is often portrayed as an insecure kid, especially around Buford. For some reason, he usually ends up teaming with him, which increases his constant nervous shakes. He's very smart, but most of his personality is eclipsed by the extreme terror he feels when Buford stays around.
  • Django Brown - Django is one of Phineas' and Ferb's friends. He can surf and, so he believes, can put his foot behind his head.. He appears to have some athletic ability, though he still has a bad case of clumsiness ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror"). In "Oil on Candace," it was revealed that his father is an artist who creates large versions of everyday objects, and that he is a very good artist like his father.
  • Charlene Doofenshmirtz - Charlene is Doofenshmirtz's ex-wife and Vanessa's favorite parent. She still has a good relationship with him, thinking he is just a bit eccentric. Charlene is friends with Linda and seems to think that her daughter is crazy and needs professional help.
  • Grandma Betty Jo Flynn and Grandpa Clyde Flynn - They are the Flynn-Fletcher kids' maternal grandparents and they invite them, along with the neighborhood kids, to a lake house every summer. Though they are old, they sometimes like to get the best of the kids and often participate in their capers. Betty Jo has an identical twin sister who lives in a wardrobe and only comes out once a year.
  • Grandma Winifred Fletcher and Grandpa Reginald Fletcher - The Flynn-Fletcher kids' paternal grandparents. They live in England, and often come to visit the family. Grandma Winnie has a great fondness for tea, and Grandpa Reg often regales his grandchildren with stories about his past and family history. Grandpa Reg's head shape is very similar to Ferb's, and Lawrence's, implying that the boy takes after him in the looks department.
  • Roger Doofenshmirtz - He is Dr. Doofenshmirtz's "goody two-shoes brother." Oddly enough, he doesn't appear in any of Doofenshmirtz's flashbacks and lacks his brother's Druiselstien accent. He also appeared in one episode as Dr. Doofenshmirtz's servant in a story called Jameson. He is voiced by Maine Native John O'Hurley.
  • Norm the Robot Man - A giant robot man created by Doofenshmirtz to destroy Perry. Much to the dismay of Dr. Doofenshmirtz, he has an extremely positive attitude. He has also worked for Major Monogram and Karl.
  • Conk- Conk is a sandwich loving cave-man that Phineas and Ferb unfroze in the episode "boyfriend from 27,000 B.C who Candace thought was Jeremy in a cave-man outfit.
  • Giant Baby/Giant Baby's Head - Recurring 'character' appearing in many episodes. Often it seems to appear in the boys' projects without their prior knowledge as in the House of horror in 'One Good Scare Ought to do it.'
