State Route 253, also known as the Ukiah-Boonville Road, runs from Route 128 near Boonville, California to Route 101 near Ukiah, California, connecting the Anderson Valley to the Ukiah Valley across the mountains of the Mendocino Range.

This route was not part of the state highway system before 1963.
