Office toys have been getting popular since the 1990s. Nowadays, office toys are considered as an important section of managing companies or employees as well. Many companies even encourage employees to bring toys to their office for reducing stress. Popular office toys are like rubber chicken, pin art, Newton's cradle and tangle.

According to Hsiang Cheng(Sam) Wang's (also known as Office Toy Specialist) research paper, office toys are objected in play, decoration and self-personality display1. Office toys are usually associated with office workers or adults, but it is not unusual for children to play with, since many office toys were designed for kids in the first place. The purpose for bringing office toys to the office are providing amusement, boosting creativity and relieving stress. Further more, different types of office toys accompany different functions or purposes. Most office toys are placed on office desktop. Lack of practical usage is the most common disadvantage for recent office toys1. Dolls, animals and miniatures are office worker's favorite type of toys1.

Due to the enivornment of most offices, office toys should avoid loud noise usage, oversize toys and dangerous objects of plaything1.
