Update: From what I can tell, it's not Dum-Dum pops that have a plastic stick, but the Gum Pops made by the same company. I'm correcting the article to reflect this. --Doc (talk) 20:17, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

According to "Unwrapped" (IIRC), the mystery flavor comes from the candy manufacturers not clearing out the machines before starting the next batch. Source, and exactly what doesn't get cleared should be verified.NiX0n (talk) 15:33, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Something seems odd

The article states: "Originally paper, Dum Dums have recently begun using hollow plastic sticks in some lollipops. In addition the outside wrapping has changed from wax coated paper to a thin plastic similar to a candy bar wrapper."

I have never seen a Dum-Dums pop with anything other than a paper stick, and as far as I can tell the wrappers are still wax-coated paper (it tears like paper, fibers and all). There is nothing on the dumdumpops.com site or on the Spangler Candy Co. website that indicates plastic sticks or plastic wrappers on Dum-Dums. Maybe the original author was confusing Spangler's other products? --Doc (talk) 21:59, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
