Collect call to cell phone – also referred to as collect 2 cell, is a telecommunications service that allows collect calls to mobile phones. When a collect call to a cellular phone is made, the caller is requesting to reverse charges and have the cost of the call billed to the mobile phone. Most mobile phone providers in the United States do not allow 3rd party charges on their monthly invoices so independent providers of this service use alternative billing methods such as text message invoicing. The need for this collect to cell is necessary with 20% of all households in the United States switching to cellular phones from landlines. Collect calls from correctional facilities, travelers trying to reach loved ones make us most of the collect calling in the United States. |
