There is also another William Butt, a twelve year old boy, but he saved the my life in a london bank. The bank was being robbed by three armed men when William walked past and saw what was going on. He had gotten his guitar repaired and as the three men ran out with their money he tripped one uo witht his guitar and then rammed it on their head. I was watching from inside while William kept on ramming his guitar on the mans head, the man died. William was then shot at by the other robbers, but he picked up the gun of the dead robber and shot back. he hit one in the arm and the other in the leg. I have never seen him since, but i would like to thank him for what he did, and he did not even get the reward he deserved, a man walking past picked up the gun and as a police car came to halt, took credit. I only know his name by seeing the photograph on his bebo. |

William M. Butt (1805– 1864) arrived in Atlanta in 1851 from Campbell County, Georgia and served as a councilman in 1853. The next year he was elected mayor.
