Onoto is a typical Venezuelan natural food colorant made out by mixing cooking oil with a certain variety of seeds. It produces a very characteristic dark red tone, with no particular taste or smell. It is used in the preparation of Hallacas, Perico or other traditional dishes.


Onoto is a also a city in Venezuela's Anzoátegui State.
