Dr. Rebecca Shaw is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. She debuted on January 15, 2009, and is portrayed by Natalia Livingston,[2] who previously portrayed Dr. Emily Quartermaine on the series from 2003 to 2008.

Storylines

In January 2009, Rebecca Shaw applies for a job at General Hospital. She later runs into Jason Morgan and Sam McCall, who are shocked that Rebecca looks exactly like Jason's sister Dr. Emily Quartermaine, who had been murdered over a year before. Rebecca eventually meets Emily's former fiance Nikolas Cassadine when they and several other Port Charles residents are quarantined during an emergency at the hospital. As Rebecca interacts with more of Emily's inquisitive loved ones, she becomes evasive about her past. Much to the chagrin of his current girlfriend Nadine Crowell, Nikolas begins investigating Rebecca, ultimately leading Rebecca to label him a stalker. Rebecca later accepts Nikolas' invitation to his gothic mansion and is touched by the story of his relationship with Emily, but seeing a photo of Emily upsets her, and she leaves.[3] Understandably hostile toward Nikolas' continued stalker tactics, Rebecca meets his half-brother Lucky Spencer, who becomes the first person in Port Charles to actually ask her about herself.[4] She is hired at General Hospital but due to the explosion is unable to start. She then accepts a job and a room at Kelly's Diner. [5]
