Revision as of 04:24, 1 April 2009
This is a list of notable Lebanese people or of notable persons of Lebanese origin. In case of the latter, subsections have been created for those of Lebanese origin or ancestry as separate from the actual Lebanese nationals.
To be included in this list, the person must either:
- Have a Wikipedia article clearly indicating they are Lebanese or of "Lebanese descent" mentioned. In all cases, make a search of Wikipedia, and link to entry to the individual's page. Make sure of actual spelling and transliteration of name as per Wikipedia article involved.
or, in case the Wikipedia article concerned about the individual does not clearly mention any indication of the Lebanese origin of the person, that:
- The named person being listed must be substantiated with references showing they are actually Lebanese or of Lebanese origin and that they are notable.
- No redlinked entries will be allowed. The person being listed must already have a Wikipedia article. This is an indication of notability, a tool for proper referencing of notability and Lebanese nationality or descent, and will effectively keep most not notable persons being listed. In such cases where no article exists, it is far better for the colleagues tryig to add a name, is to work on an article on the person as a first step, establish his/her notability and Lebanese origin and then, and only then, list the name here.
- Make sure that those of a clear Lebanese nationality are listed as main entries immediately under the categroy, whereas those of Lebanese descent with no outright Lebanese nationality, must be listed under the sub-sections created under each category clearly indicating: "of Lebanese descent".
Please verify names before adding. Many online lists contain errors.
