Kamen Rider Decade (仮面ライダーディケイド, Kamen Raidā Dikeido) is the primary protagonist and eponymous character of the 2009 Kamen Rider Series Kamen Rider Decade. Decade's name is taken from the English word decade as Decade is the 10th of the Heisei run of the Kamen Rider Series. His design is based on a striped shield bug.
Tsukasa Kadoya
Tsukasa Kadoya (門矢 士, Kadoya Tsukasa, portrayed by Masahiro Inoue[1]) is a hypocritical and self-righteous young man who does not know much about his past. He has a strong desire to "catch the world" using his photos, but they never develop well. He sees this as a sign that he is not of this world, unaware of it being an prelude of it being supplanted by the worlds of the other nine Kamen Riders. However as Decade, he is seen as an agent of destruction, usually being called "the devil" (悪魔, akuma), a rumor spread by Narutaki, who believes Tsukasa does not belong in any world. It is also revealed that those who appear in his badly developed photographs die or foreshadow events. As Tsukasa travels between dimensions, his clothing changes to suit the Rider's World, including some accoutrements similar in color to his camera and Decade. He also exhibits some prior knowledge or a talent necessary to his quest in the Rider's Worlds he enters. Some examples are his knowledge of the Grongi language in Kuuga's World and his enrollment as a student in Faiz's World.
Fictional character biography
When Tsukasa is confronted by Natsumi over the photos he has taken, the two get separated by a dimensional barrier that sends Natsumi into an unstable pocket dimension where she flees for her life from various monsters before finding Decadriver from her dreams. While looking for her, Tsukasa encounters Wataru Kurenai, who calls him "Decade". Wataru tells him today is the day his world will end, and that he is needed to protect it. After finding Natsumi, Tsukasa uses the KamenRide Cards to assume the forms of Kabuto, Faiz and Hibiki to deal with groups of Worm, Orphnoch, and Makamou. Confused by both his actions and the cards' powers' fading, Tsukasa takes Natsumi and returns to their world as it is being destroyed by the various monsters. When time suddenly freezes, Wataru appears, revealing the status of the worlds and assigning Tsukasa the task of traveling into the other worlds to stop the dimensional chaos inflicted on his own world by defeating the other Kamen Riders of each dimension.
The first is Kuuga's World, where Tsukasa finds that he is now a police officer and that Yuusuke Onodera fights the Grongi as Kamen Rider Kuuga. Here, Tsukasa learns that someone is disseminating rumors across the Worlds about him as a destroyer of worlds. After reconciling with Yuusuke, the two prevent the Grongi, King N-Gamio-Zeda, from taking over the world. After leaving Kuuga's World, Tsukasa becomes a classical violinist and encounters the young boy Wataru, who has the title of King of the Fangire Race and can transform into Kamen Rider Kiva. Here, Tsukasa ends up resolving the peaceful coexistence of the human and Fangire races by working with Wataru to defeat the Beetle Fangire: Wataru's father and the former King.
While in Ryuki's World, where he represents Natsumi as a defense lawyer in a murder case in the Kamen Rider Trial system, he meets Shinji Tatsumi as the two work together to investigate the matter until he is brought into the trial to fight Kamata as his first opponent. Through the events of the Trial, they learn that Kamata was the murderer, and after defeating him as Abyss, it is revealed that he is actually an Undead. Narutaki takes him to Blade's World as Tsukasa follows. Upon his arrival, he is the chief waiter under the BOARD Corporation, and through his own fights against the Undead is promoted from Rank 2 member to Rank King while Kazuma Kendate is demoted and works under him. He soon faces off against Kamata in his true form as the Paradoxa Undead, and then comes in contact with Kamen Rider Chalice and the sudden appearance of Kamen Rider Todoroki. Later, Tsukasa and the others discover that Chalice (Hajime Shijo) and Kamata were working together to allow Chalice to become the Joker. After he and Blade work together to defeat the Undead, teaching Kazuma that being a follower is just as important as being a leader, Tsukasa takes his leave as Kazuma thanks him.
In Faiz's World, Tsukasa poses as a Smart Brain High School student where he crosses paths with a man he previously met in Blade's World, Daiki Kaito, who warns him to stay out of his affairs in this world: finding Faiz. After refusing to take Kaito's warning and wanting to find Faiz himself, Tsukasa crosses paths with the Lucky Clover group, who are also after Faiz. When he learns that Faiz is in danger, Tsukasa arrives to find the Rider to be Takumi Ogami. Kaito shows up and becomes Diend to claim the Faiz Belt for himself with Decade refusing to hand it over. Tsukasa walks away with the Faiz Belt, but later offers the RideBooker so he can keep the Belt. Narutaki whisks Tsukasa away to fight Kamen Rider Ryuga, but Daiki intervenes and destroys Ryuga before giving Tsukasa back gets the RideBooker. After supporting Tsukasa in the Lucky Clover invasion of Smart Brain High school, Daiki claims a fallen Orga Belt for himself out of rubble and moves onto the next world, leaving Tsukasa and company with a little note on the painting welcoming them to Agito's World.

Tsukasa transforms into Decade through the use of the DecaDriver (ディケイドライバー, DikeiDoraibā) belt that is based around the Rider Cards. By inserting a card into the DecaDriver, Decade can invoke the cards' abilities.
Ride Booker
Decade's primary weapon is the Ride Booker (ライドブッカー, Raido Bukkā) which has three modes: Book Mode (ブックモード, Bukku Mōdo), Gun Mode (ガンモード, Gan Mōdo), and Sword Mode (ソードモード, Sōdo Mōdo). While in Book Mode, the Ride Booker holds the Rider Cards that Decade uses in his arsenal. In Sword Mode, the Ride Booker's finishing move is the Decade Slash (ディケイドスラッシュ, Dikeido Surasshu). In Gun Mode, the Ride Booker's finishing move is the Decade Blast (ディケイドブラスト, Dikeido Burasuto).
Rider Cards
Like the Heisei Riders in Kamen Rider Ryuki and Kamen Rider Blade, Decade has card-based weaponry and powers: the Rider Cards (ライダーカード, Raidā Kādo).
KamenRide Cards
The KamenRide Cards (カメンライドカード, KamenRaido Kādo) supposedly possess all the powers of the 9 previous Heisei Kamen Riders (as seen in the first episode). However, due to a seal placed on them all and the confluence of the 9 worlds, it appears that before Decade can assume the form of a previous Kamen Rider, Tsukasa and that world's Kamen Rider must help each other resolve an issue threatening that world.
- Decade (ディケイド, Dikeido): Initial card; transforms Tsukasa into Kamen Rider Decade. Tsukasa must use this card first before assuming any other transformations.
- Kabuto (カブト, Kabuto): Transforms Decade into Kabuto's Rider Form, used once before its power is sealed.[2]
- Hibiki (響鬼, Hibiki): Transforms Decade into Hibiki, used once before its power is sealed.[3]
- Faiz (ファイズ, Faizu): Transforms Decade into Faiz, initially sealed after being used once.[4] Regained when Tsukasa teaches Takumi that helping friends matters regardless of who you are.[5]
- Kuuga (クウガ, Kūga): Regained when Tsukasa gains Yuusuke's trust.[6], Decade uses the card to assume Kuuga's Mighty Form
- Kiva (キバ, Kiba): Regained when Tsukasa acknowledges Wataru as the Fangires' King.[7], Decade uses the card to assume Kiva's Kiva Form.
- Ryuki (龍騎, Ryūki): Regained when Tsukasa and Shinji work together to defeat Kamata.[8], Decade uses the card to assume the form of Ryuki. In this state, Decade can travel through mirrors.[9] He has used this card twice since he regained it.
- Blade (ブレイド, Bureido): Regained when Tsukasa shows Kazuma that even followers are important as leaders,[10] Decade uses the card to assume the form of Blade.
FormRide Cards
FormRide Cards (フォームライドカード, FōmuRaido Kādo) allow Decade to assume any of the forms the Heisei Riders have. Accessing these forms grant Decade with any weapon exclusive to that form.
- Kuuga Dragon (クウガドラゴン, Kūga Doragon): As Kuuga, Decade assumes Dragon Form.
- Kuuga Titan (クウガタイタン, Kūga Taitan): As Kuuga, Decade assumes Titan Form.
- Kiva Garulu (キバガルル, Kiba Garuru): As Kiva, Decade assumes Garulu Form.
- Kiva Basshaa (キババッシャー, Kiva Basshā): As Kiva, Decade assumes Basshaa Form.
- Kiva Dogga (キバドッガ, Kiba Dogga): As Kiva, Decade assumes Dogga Form.
AttackRide Cards
The AttackRide Cards (アタックライドカード, AtakkuRaido Kādo) allow Decade to perform any of his own attacks, or a signature attack of whatever Kamen Rider he has transformed into.
- Slash (スラッシュ, Surasshu): As Decade, This increases the damage done by the Ride Booker's Sword Mode.
- Blast (ブラスト, Burasuto): As Decade, This grants the Ride Booker's Gun Mode rapid fire capabilities.
- Illusion (イリュージョン, Iryūjon): As Decade, This creates multiple images of Decade. Each image can come in physical contact with the target.
- Clock Up (クロックアップ, Kurokku Appu): As Kabuto, Decade moves extremely fast to the point that seconds slow down into minutes.
- Ongekibou Rekka (音撃棒・烈火, Ongekibō Rekka): As Hibiki, Decade conjures up two drumsticks to charge them with power and use the finisher Kiboujutsu Rekkadan (鬼棒術・烈火弾, Kibōjutsu Rekkadan), igniting the tops with flames, creating torch-like weapons that shoot fireballs to incinerate targets. Decade's fireballs are powerful enough to destroy giant Makamou as well.
- Autovajin (オートバジン, Ōtobajin): As Faiz, Decade turns the Machine Decader into the Autovajin, Faiz's own motorcycle, which goes into Battle Mode (バトルモード, Batoru Mōdo). This also allows Decade to access the Faiz Edge via the Autovajin's right shoulder.
- Strike Vent (ストライクベント, Sutoraiku Bento): As Ryuki, Decade summons the Drag Claw, a dragon-headed gauntlet that can send a burst of flames out of its mouth. Unlike the original Ryuki, it does not need Dragreder's assistance.
- Metal (メタル, Metaru): As Blade, Decade invokes the power of the Seven of Spades Rouse Card, Metal Trilobite, to enhance resilience to physical harm by transmutating his body into organic metal.
- Mach (マッハ, Mahha): As Blade, Decade invokes the power of the Nine of Spades Rouse Card, Mach Jaguar, to enhance his speed and agility.
Final FormRide Cards
Final FormRide Cards (ファイナルフォームライドカード, Fainaru FōmuRaido Kādo) give Decade the power to bestow new forms upon other Riders.
- Kuuga Gouram (クウガゴウラム, Kūga Gōramu): Transforms Kuuga into a creature similar to Gouram, giving him the ability to fly.
- Kiva Arrow (キバアロー, Kiba Arō): Transforms Kiva into a large Kivat-like Bow with an arrow resembling Kiva's sealed Hell's Gate leg.
- Ryuki Dragreder (リュウキドラグレッダー, Ryūki Doragureddā): Transforms Ryuki into a creature similar to Dragreder.
- Blade Blade (ブレイドブレード, Bureido Burēdo): Transforms Blade into a large sword similar to the Blay Rouzer.
- Faiz Blaster (ファイズブラスター, Faizu Burasutā): Transforms Faiz into a large double barreled laser cannon, similar in appearance as Faiz's own Faiz Blaster.
Final AttackRide Cards
The Final AttackRide Cards (ファイナルアタックライドカード, Fainaru Atakku Raido) are Decade's most powerful attacks, used for finishing off enemies. The Final AttackRide Cards, in conjunction with the KamenRide Cards, also allow Decade to perform the signature attack of the Rider he is transformed into.
- Decade: Decade performs the Dimension Kick (ディメンションキック, Dimenshon Kikku), an attack that involves Decade jumping through various golden cards and performing a flying kick. A variation of the usage of this card involves the use of the Ride Booker in Sword Mode, allowing Decade to execute a high charged slash, named the Dimension Slash (ディメンションスラッシュ, Dimenshon Surasshu).
- Kuuga: While in Gouram form, Kuuga rushes toward Decade with the target stuck in his pincers while Decade performs the Decade Assault (ディケイドアサルト, Dikeido Asaruto) flying kick towards the target.
- Kiva: With the Kiva Arrow, Decade performs the Decade Fang (ディケイドファング, Dikeido Fangu) which fires the arrow, unfolding to hit the target similarly to Kiva's Rider Kick: the Darkness Moon Break.
- Ryuki: With Ryuki Dragreder flying behind to boost his attack's power, Decade performs the Decade Dragoon (ディケイドドラグーン, Dikeido Doragūn) which is similar to Ryuki's Final Vent, the Dragon Rider Kick.
- Blade: With the Blade Blade, Decade performs the Decade Edge (ディケイドエッジ, Dikeido Ejji) where the Blade Blade charges with electricity then is slashed down to make a huge electric shockwave similar to Blade's Lightning Slash. The same card can be used by Decade while as Blade, executing Blade's Lightning Blast kick.
- Faiz: With the Faiz Blaster, Decade shoots an energy drill at the enemy before performing the Decade Photon (ディケイドフォトン, Dikeido Foton), a powerful laser blast with some recoil, which is similar to Faiz's Rider Kick: the Crimson Smash.
Machine Decader
- Length: 2320mm
- Width: 835mm
- Height: 1155mm
- Top speed: 350km/h
Decade's bike is called the Machine Decader (マシンディケイダー, Mashin Dikeidā). Like Decade himself, the Machine Decader can assume the form of the respective Rider's motorcycle. It exhibits this ability when Decade transforms into Faiz and transforms the Machine Decader into the Autovajin.
