This is a list of examples of the number needed to treat (NNT) values for various medications and medical interventions. The NNT value is a measure of the utility of administering a drug or performing a medical intervention. A drug that has a large NNT value represents one that confers limited benefit to the individual taking it, requiring many people to be taking the drug for one individual to benefit. On the other hand, an NNT value of 1 indicates an ideal drug that is effective every time for every patient.
