Liberty Christian Academy

Liberty Christian Academy was founded by Dr. Jerry Falwell in 1967 as Lynchburg Christian Academy, and was developed as a ministry of Thomas Road Baptist Church. LCA is a recognized education facility from the Commonwealth of Virginia, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Association of Christian Schools International.

LCA's home for the past 38 years was on the Thomas Road Baptist Church location but has been moved just off the Liberty University Campus, and was renamed to Liberty Christian Academy. This new campus has state of the art equipment to keep up with the times and changes of the world. LCA students now have easier access to the University campus facilities such as the library and religion hall and many other facilities for those hard assignments that need a more focused location of study. The moving of LCA happened to fulfill the dream of Dr. Falwell to provide continual Christian education from pre-school all the way to Christian graduates. There are now over 1600 people in the school.

Liberty Christian Academy Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Frank Rocco

Liberty Christian Academy over the past several years has come to be known for its outstanding football program led by Head Coach Frank Rocco. Under Rocco's leadership, the Bulldogs have a stellar 56-2 record, capturing 5 Virginia Independent Conference Championships and 3 States Championships in his 5 year tenure. The Bulldogs football team has had several players continue on the the college ranks including RB Rashad Jennings(Liberty University via Pittsburgh),FS Chris Rocco(Liberty University),OL Bobby Massie(Ole Miss) and WR Patrick Kelly(Liberty University). Rashad Jennings became the first former LCA standout to join the ranks of the NFL when he was selected 250th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
