Good question. It seems that miniature pot bellied pigs and miniature pigs are somewhat synonymous. Most miniatures are related as best I can tell to pot bellied pigs (and descended from them). Perhaps not enough of a distinction? On the other hand this book title suggest they are not one and the same [Miniature pigs By Pat Storer, Kristin Storer]. This is also interesting [1]. And what about a miniature variety of a pig that isn't a pot bellied pig? Does such a thing exist? This is why this effort is so vitally important.
