Fravia(1952–2009) was a European software reverse engineer, who was probably best known for his web archive of reverse engineering techniques and papers. He died of cancer on May 3, 2009.[citation needed][1]

Work

Fravia has been described as "an inspiration for many [hackers]", a friend of the founder of the CCC Wau Holland, and a motivation for Jon Lech Johansen to understand the inner workings of computer programs.[2] Johansen refers to Fravia's archive as a goldmine during his education as a reverse engineer.[3]

In his later years, he moved from software reversing to searching the web further than by the traditional ways. His website, searchlores.org, has been described as the meeting point of the people who wanted to search the web deeper still.[2]
