Mahmoud Abdel Razek Fadlallah, better known as Shikabala is an Egyptian soccer player, born 5 March 1986 in Aswan, Egypt. He currently plays for El Zamalek, where he started his football career. He previously played for PAOK of Thessaloniki. Shikabala plays a free role, usually in the upper midfield. His pace, skills, passing and finishing attracted many clubs in Egypt and Europe, but he had to return to Egypt for his military duties so he chose his old club Zamalek and quickly became the club's number one star.

On July 23 2007, Shikabala was banned from representing the Egyptian national team for one year. This decision is based on the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) due to ‘inappropriate behaviour’ during the 2007 All-Africa Games.[1]

Shikabala, who weighs 73 kilograms[2], was the subject of a dispute between PAOK and El Zamalek. He moved to his old club El Zamalek in January 2007, while still officially belonging to PAOK. FIFA ruled that the move was illegal and suspended him from domestic competition for 6 months and fined him 990,000 euros[3], a decision that the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld.[4] The ban ended on 26 October 2008[5] and he made his return in an under 20 game against Harras Al-Hodoud the following day[6]. He was due to make his first senior appearance on 7 November 2008 against Arab Contractors[7]

In May 2008, Shikabala was included in the squad to represent Egypt in its qualification matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, despite having two months left to serve of his international ban.[8]

Shikabala's agents are supposedly at the latter stages of contractual talks with Glasgow Celtic regarding a move when the transfer window opens. The fee is expected to be around 5 million euros.
