Uckerby is a hamlet in Richmondshire, North Yorkshire, England. It situated at a crossroads on the road between Scorton and Moulton.
The name Uckerby is thought to derive from the word 'Ukkr' meaning a restless Viking, the 'by' meaning home of. Uckerby is believed to be an origin of the surnames Huckaby and Huckabee although Huccaby in Devon is more likely.[1].
