Moos

Moos (real name : Mustapha) is a French singer (born in 1976, in Toulouse, France) and had a great success with the song "Au Nom de la rose".

Biography

Moos was born in Toulouse, with his Moroccan parents, and raised in the multiethnic neighborhood of Mirail, where different styles are mixed: African raï, funk, R&B. He first performed a song on Radio Toulouse, then released his first single in 1998, "Qui me donnera des ailes", but it was unsuccessful and failed to reach the top 50 in France. His greatest success was the single "Au Nom de la rose", released in 1999, which was both number one in France and Belgium (Wallonia) for several months. Le Crabe est érotique, his first and only album to date, hit some success being ranked among the best-selling albums in France from May to August 1999 (11 weeks, reaching number 11). Most of his songs deals with themes related to sex. In September of the same year, he released another single "Délicate Chatte", but it was unsuccessful.[1] Therefore Moos can de considered as a one-hit wonder, with a sole big hit. Three years ago, Moos opened a teahouse in Toulouse and, in parallel with this activity, he continued his music with songs such as "Comme une étoile" or "Olivia".
