==When it comes to the heart of the matter, what do you ''really'' want for your child?==
At Lynden Christian Schools, students receive a quality Christian-based education that teaches and encourages them to grow and mature into perceptive and caring Christians with life-encompassing obedience to God. With nearly 100 years of history (founded 1910), we are pleased to offer a fully accredited academic program to students from preschool through twelfth grade on two campuses (Lynden and Bellingham).

Because of our size, history, and experience, we are able to offer extensive curricular and extracurricular options where our students can explore and develop their God-given gifts in the core academic subjects as well as in such areas as music, drama, art, Vocational-Technical, FFA, athletics and much more. Our many alumni are serving the Lord locally and throughout the world in a wide variety of vocations - having a transforming influence in the world for the glory of God.

Our dedicated and State of Washington certified staff is the key to achieving our mission as a school. On a daily basis they integrate a distinctly Biblical perspective into their teaching in all subjects and at all grade levels. Each teacher, unique in personality and teaching expertise, is a Christian committed to the goals of Christian education. Parents at Lynden Christian Schools are incredibly supportive of their school, encouraging their children, and working hand-in-hand with the staff. We are grateful for a huge volunteer base that extends across generations. Our local churches (about 80) that are represented in the school are a constant source of support and blessing, completing the home/school/church connection.

Lynden Christian Schools is a private, parent-run system governed by a Board of Directors who are elected by the school "Society," comprised of parents and others who support the school. We are a member of larger organizations such as CSI (Christian Schools International), NWCSI (Northwest Christian Schools International) and WFIS (Washington Federation of Independent Schools). We are also blessed to be situated in a beautiful part of God's creation, in close proximity to the mountains, the ocean, farms, and such urban centers as Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia.

==Our History==
Our earliest history can be traced to a group of hearty families who settled in the pioneer town of Lynden in the late 1800s. These courageous Christians, who came from Michigan, Iowa, Dakotas, and the Netherlands, are identified as the nucleus that conceived the idea of a Christian school. They wanted an education founded on the Word of God, which would allow them to exercise their parental baptismal vows. God's blessing on their vision followed by decades of faithful and dedicated parents gave realization to the Christian school for which we thankfully celebrate an existence of nearly 100 years.

During the spring of 1910, a group was identified to organize the new school. The Society for Christian Instruction was formed, Articles of Incorporation were written, a School Board selected, and the search for a school building began. By early June property had been purchased and construction began in earnest that summer. This building, on Grover Street, was completed and in service by February of 1911. Doors opened the fall of 1911 in rented quarters with an enrollment of 72 students - which exceeded everyone's expectations!

By 1930, the school offered junior high education; Lynden Christian expanded to include secondary education in a newly-built facility dedicated in 1947. Only two years later, visionary supporters began the first phase of a new elementary school complex near the high school on Drayton Street. By 1965, the current high school building was dedicated and the First Street building became the middle school, creating a compact and unified campus.

Always pressing on, supporters moved forward in faith during the next two decades with more campus expansions and improvements: an industrial arts and agriculture building in 1977, a multi-million dollar middle school in 1994, and Central Business Office in 1999. The latest work has been in the high school, in fall 2003 a new Worship and Fine Arts Center was dedicated as well as several new classrooms.

In 2006, Evergreen Christian School merged with Lynden Christian Schools to create our Bellingham P-7 Campus.

Lynden Christian School has faithfully provided Christ-centered education for nearly a century. The years may pass but the dedication, sacrifice and vision of the parents remain the same. Today, as in years past, our parents fervently desire a faith-based education for their children.

==Our Locations==
Lynden Christian Schools are located in Whatcom County in the northwest corner of Washington State in the cities of Lynden and Bellingham. The city of Lynden has 10,000 residents, with just over 160,000 residents in Whatcom County. Lynden lies just three miles from the Canadian border; there is a border crossing north of Lynden called Huntington Station. The city of Bellingham, 13 miles to the south, is considerably larger with nearly 70,000 residents and a regional university, Western Washington University; Seattle is another 90 miles south on Interstate 5.

Geographical highlights include the Cascade Mountains to the west, including Mt. Baker, which towers above the foothills at 10,800 feet. The Mt. Baker Ski area is an hour and a half drive from Lynden. Ten miles to the west is Puget Sound and all of its islands, parks, marinas and outdoor opportunities. Forty-five minutes after crossing the Canadian border brings you to the metropolis of Vancouver, a vibrant sprawling city of nearly 6 million people. Vancouver offers a fantastic array of the arts, multicultural experiences and shopping. Vancouver has three ski areas all within an hours drive.

==Lynden Campus (Preschool to Grade 12)==
Lynden Preschool-12th grade campus has three main educational buildings and one business office on its campus. The elementary school houses Preschool, Kindergarten and grades 1-4, the middle school encompasses grades 5 and 6 in the upper level and 7 and 8 in the lower level. The high school houses grades 9-12 and includes a separate building for the agricultural, shop and horticultural classes. The Central Business Office is literally "housed" in a remodeled home that lies in the middle of campus at 417 Lyncs Drive, Lynden, WA 98264.

==Bellingham Campus (Preschool to Grade 7)==
Our Bellingham campus (also known as Evergreen Christian School) is located at The Firs Christian Center on a beautiful 12-acre wooded site close to the shores of Lake Whatcom. We use four of The Firs Christian Center buildings to house our Preschool-7th grade classrooms, our chapel and our office. Please check out our Bellingham campus by traveling east on Lakeway Avenue. As Lakeway nears Lake Whatcom it turns into Cable Street and our Bellingham campus is located right past the fire station on the right side at 4604 Cable Street, Bellingham, WA 98229.
