William Wilson from (born Dumfries in 1921) was Scottish professional footballer. Wilson was a goalkeeper.
Wilson was from Dumfries and had been unable to win a regular game at home town club, Queen of the South F.C. ahead of Roy Henderson. Wilson transfered to Clyde F.C. for whom he broke a finger in the 1955 Scottish Cup semi final against Dave Halliday's Aberdeen. Wilson thus missed the final win against Celtic F.C. In charge of the semi final was triple World Cup referee, Bob Davidson, father of another of Queen of the South keeper, Alan Davidson.[1]
