Ćuprija (Serbian: Ћуприја) is a city located in Serbia and Montenegro at 43.93° North, 21.38° East. Its name means "bridge" in Turkish language. In 2003 the city had population of 20,000.
City has a long history. It was founded as military outpost on the road that led from Constantinople to Rome on the crosing of river now caled Velika Morava. At first city was caled Ravanela, later with Romans got name Horeum Margi, when first Serbs moved into the area got name Ravno which means flat, since the city is in the flat vally by the river. When Ottoman Empire concored the area city's name was changed to todays name.
