WHAN is a Full Service formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Ashland, Virginia, serving Ashland and Hanover County, Virginia. WHAN is owned and operated by Fifth Estate Broadcasting. WHAN airs a variety format featuring bluegrass music, news, and information in morning and afternoon drive, and popular talk shows in middays and evenings. Included are "Duke and The Doctor" from 9 to 11am, "Dr. Joy Browne" from 1 to 3pm, "Clark Howard" from 3 to 4pm, and "Bruce Williams" from 7 to 10pm.

WHAN holds a construction permit to move to 650AM, with a new city of license in Victoria. The station will broadcast with a powerful 50,000 watts during the daytime only.
History
The station signed on the air around 1965 as WIVE. In 1970, an FM was signed on at 100.1 as WIVE-FM. During the seventies the stations broadcast a religious format and also operated a Christian Book Store out of their studios on Ashcake Rd in Hanover County.
In 1977, WIVE-AM changed to an adult contemporary format as WKDH, the calls meant to latch on to the popularity of local Hanover county theme park, Kings Dominion.
By 1981, the station abandoned the format and returned to religion as WIVE-AM on May 12, 1981. WIVE-FM was also sold off around this time and became WYFJ. WIVE-AM continued broadcasting alone from Ashcake Rd, while WYFJ-FM moved to a new facility on Washington Highway.
On October 1, 1987, the station changed its call sign to WMMM (these calls are now on an FM station in Madison Wisconsin). On July 1, 1987 to WPES. On August 28, 1998 to the current WHAN.
