George Grant (author): Difference between revisions
Restored and expanded Dominionist quote that had been removed, but placed it in new, separate “Quotes” section. |
Internal-linked “Kids Who Kill” in the Co-Authored Published Books, and removed that entry (the only one) from the “See Also” section. I left that section header in place, even though it’s empty. |

George Grant (born 1954) is an Evangelical educator, a Reformed scholar, and a Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) pastor. He served as an assistant to D. James Kennedy at the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and taught at Knox Theological Seminary.[1]
Following his move to Tennessee in 1991, Grant founded the Franklin Classical School in Franklin, Tennessee, as well as the King’s Meadow Study Center which is focused on developing a cultural expression of the Protestant and Reformed Christian worldview in art, music, literature, politics, social research, community development and education. He is the chancellor of New College Franklin, a classical Christian liberal arts college being founded in Franklin.[2] He is the author of more than 80 books and hundreds of articles.[3] His Grand Illusions was an influential and best-selling pro-life book,[citation needed] published in four editions. He is currently involved in a church planting movement throughout Middle Tennessee and is the organizing pastor of Parish Presbyterian Church in Franklin, Tennessee.[4]
In addition to his pastoral responsibilities and regular classes in history, literature, theology, and the arts, he maintains an active writing and speaking schedule in this country and around the world. He has degrees in political science from the University of Houston (B.A.), philosophy from Whitefield Theological Seminary (M.A., D.Litt., Ph.D.), humanities from Belhaven College (D.Hum.), and theology from Knox Theological Seminary (D.Min. cand.). He lives in Middle Tennessee near Franklin with his wife and co-author Karen. Together they have three grown children and two grandchildren.

Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ — to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.
But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice.
It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.
It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.
It is dominion we are after.
World conquest. That’s what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less.
If Jesus Christ is indeed Lord, as the Bible says, and if our commission is to bring the land into subjection to His Lordship, as the Bible says, then all our activities, all our witnessing, all our preaching, all our craftsmanship, all our stewardship, and all our political action will aim at nothing short of that sacred purpose.
Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land — of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ. It is to reinstitute the authority of God’s Word as supreme over all judgments, over all legislation, over all declarations, constitutions, and confederations. True Christian political action seeks to rein the passions of men and curb the pattern of digression under God’s rule. Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land — of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ.
