Miss Universe 1987, the 36th Miss Universe pageant was held at Hall Four at World Trade Centre, Singapore on May 27, 1987. 22-year-old Cecilia Bolocco of Chile was crowned as Miss Universe 1987. 68 contestants competed in the 1987 Miss Universe Pageant. This was the twenty-first and final Miss Universe competition to be hosted by popular American television host Bob Barker. Mr. Barker, an animal rights proponent, requested pageant organizers to ban all animal fur prizes from the pageant. He promptly resigned as host when his request was refused. The programme was broadcast by CBS.
