Peter Jeffery Myers (born 22 October 1958 in Cairns, Queensland) is a retired Australian basketball player.
Early Career
At the age of 17 Peter made the Queensland under 18's national team. By the age of 18 he was in the Brisbane Bullets development team. Before making his debut in the Australian National Basketball League with the Bullets Peter left Queensland on an impressive scholorship to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Runnin' Rebels basketball. After two seasons Peter was drafted in the 1979 NBA Draft to the Chicago Bulls via the 48th round.[dubious – discuss]
Return to Australia
Though after surgery from a leg injury Peter never played an NBA game and returned to Australia where he and girl friend Julie Myers (former model and Australian aerobic champion) travelled to Geelong, Victoria where Peter played in the Australian National Basketball League for the Geelong Supercats.[1]
Alongside with Cal Bruton and James Crawford they set an NBL record of 18-0 during the 1984 season.
