The CFMT Building alternatively known as the OMNI Building is located along the harbourfront of Toronto, Canada, at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Lake Shore Boulevard West. The Art Deco building was designed by Toronto architects Chapman and Oxley, and was completed in 1927.
Formerly the Crosse and Blackwell Building, the building has been occupied by Toronto multicultural television station CFMT-TV since 1979. It currently houses the offices and production studios for various media outlets owned by Rogers Media, including CFMT (now known on air as OMNI.1), CJMT-TV (OMNI.2), The Biography Channel Canada, OLN and G4 Canada.
Although the Citytv signage appears around the building, CITY-TV remains at 299 Queen Street West at Queen and John Streets, along with the other former CHUM Limited channels now owned by CTVglobemedia (CP24, MuchMusic, MuchMore, Star!, Bravo! and Space).
Rogers Sportsnet is based at the Rogers Building located at Jarvis Street and Bloor Street, where most of the Rogers-owned operations such as its radio stations are based.
The Shopping Channel is also based at a separate studio in Mississauga.
In October 2007, Rogers announced that the OMNI stations would move from the CFMT Building to 35 Dundas Street East. The move is expected to be finalized on September 8, 2009[citation needed] The former Olympic Spirit building on Dundas Square. CFMT and CJMT will share the facility with Rogers' newly acquired television station Citytv.
Rogers will continue to utilize the CFMT Building for other purposes, such as administrative offices and other technical operations such as master control.
