Dean Turner

Dean Turner (6 January 1972 - 21 August 2009) was an Australian rock musician, best known for being the bass player in Australian rock band Magic Dirt.

He grew up in Geelong, Breamlea and Torquay with his family - parents and two brothers.

He began playing the bass guitar in 1990.

In 1991 he formed Deer Bubbles with then partner Adalita Srsen. However the band didn't go very well and by 1992, the pair, along with guitarist Daniel Herring, started a new band, briefly known as The Jim Jims. With the addition of drummer Adam Robertson, they became known as Magic Dirt.

Turner has also produced recordings for a number of Australian bands, such as theredsunband and, most recently, Sons Of The Sun and Violent Soho.

Turner married Linda Bosidas and became a father in 2005, with the birth of his daughter Charlie which was followed by the birth of his second daugher Evie.

Dean Turner died of cancer on 21 August 2009, aged 37.[1].
