The paper is owned by the Irving family's Brunswick News. The paper went by the name of The Bugle from its founding in the early 1980s until it was sold to Brunswick News in 2003. The paper in neighboring town [[Hartland, New Brunswick|]], the Observer, was bought by Brunswick News soon after. Brunswick News combined both paper's staffs into one office in Woodstock, publishing each paper seperately for a short time before combining them into one single edition to cover both towns and surrounding areas.
