Relationship with Milo Ventimiglia
It was recently reported in People magazine that she and Milo (Peter from Heroes) were openly romantically involved. I don't usually do bio articles and so I don't know the level at which this becomes worthy of being included. If someone else wants to deal with this link/info, feel free. ju66l3r (talk) 19:55, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- I know there good friends which could give us the impression that ther is a deeper relationship, There is a big age difference
which probably makes it confusing like (should we or shouldn't we) No one really knows what's going on, and if they are dating they are definately keeping on the down low, (I don't even think they known how they feel but with all the pressure from the media, anything could happen) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.209.89 (talk) 13:49, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- Added some info about this to the article. Someone may also want to add these as references: [1][2][3][4][5][6]. Cheers 80.7.207.120 (talk) 20:06, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Whaling pic
Is this pic necessary? --Howard the Duck 06:30, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Well i think so, Because you might have heard that Hayden and some friends tried to stop A Whale hunt in Japan, It may be just a small whaling pic but it's something to do with what she cares about, And this is about her..So why not? ( Save the Whales save the World!) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.209.89 (talk) 13:43, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Activism
I added that she handed a letter of protest to the Norwegian ambassador in which she proved to be a silly tree hugger and being portrayed that way in the Norwegian media, as she had none what so ever substantial arguments against Norway's COMMERCIAL whaling.
What on Earth has that to do with Japan's "Scientific Whaling" to do?
To present clear and good arguments is a fair thing. She failed to do that, and wasted the ambassadors time.
Now, I do understand that you like her a lot. She is pretty and all that. However for the people who don't know her (and I guess you can just forget exporting Heroes to Iceland, Norway and Japan now, in Norway we even took a stand against Star Trek on this issue), which the wikipedia entry is most useful for, it is important also to get the bad sides of her personality presented.
If she is not a vegan, her appraisal of more/less intelligent beings being slaughtered by man for consumption, and not being endangered, she is a true hypocrite!
At first, I thought the amendment was only adding her plea to influence the Bush Administration into taking a stand at the IWC meeting; discovering that it was a illogical change to my sentence (perhaps bygone reducing my irony in it) that made me furious. I don't want a war. Wikipedia is for people (like me who had never heard about her before) to learn, not for us to fight.
Footage of the surfers in Japan is part of The Cove documentary (http://thecovemovie.com/) although I cannot find any internet references to it she is in the movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.64.30.2 (talk) 18:19, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
On Monday the 28th of January 2008 she handed a letter of protest to the Norwegian ambassador in the United States arguing that Japan's so called "Scientific Hunt" is illegal commercial whaling. The next day, She also appeared with Chairman Nick Rahall, Chris Shays and John Kerry at a press conference calling for the Bush Administration to stand firm at the next IWC meeting.
is now changed to:
On Monday the 28th of January 2008 she handed a letter of protest to the Norwegian ambassador in the United States arguing that Norway should stop its sustainable hunt for whales. The Norwegian ambassador was not impressed as he thought she appeared to be an uneducated self important passionate person not presenting no scientific information and only emotional tree hugging propaganda. She also delivered a letter to the Japanese ambassador calling for the end of Japan's "Scientific Hunt" of whales. The next day, she also appeared with Chairman Nick Rahall, Chris Shays and John Kerry at a press conference calling for the Bush Administration to stand firm at the next IWC meeting.

Perhaps the whole article about activism should reflect on her view and actions. The statements put forward are in strong contrasts to those that can be found on whaling. As for a civilian to take illegal action against another country, that is defined as terrorism. For a nation to take action against legal interests in another country: it's an act of war! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.54.44.25 (talk) 14:04, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
I see that quotation has been required for my editing. I have made them, but will in the interest of the quote being in Norwegian translate it here:
Original text:
Primadonna
Den norske ambassaderåden er imidlertid ikke imponert over den unge aktivistens interesse for motargumenter.
- Den unge skuespilleren fremsto som særdeles selvopptatt og noe av en primadonna. «Do you love animals», og «have you ever been swimming with whales», gjentok hun uten å vise spesiell interesse for de vitenskapelig funderte argumentene for hvalfangst.
My translation:
Primadonna
The representative for the Norwegian Embassy was not very impressed by the young activists interest in the other sides arguments.
-The young actress appeared to be enormously self important and some kind of a primadonna. She repeated ”Do you love animals” and ”have you ever been swimming with whales” repeatedly without paying any attention to the scientifically founded arguments in support of whaling. It seemed most important for her to be able to prove that she has been here and delivered some sort of protest, says Meier [the representative for the Embassy].
According to him Norway captured about half of its quota of 1000 Minke Whales. As a reference there are between 150.000 and 200.000 Minke Whale in the North Atlantic, and about one million Minke Whales globally.
Small addition:
The undertone of the Norwegian text is that she was there to promote herself, not her cause.
Having different opinion about an issue is respected in Norway, while trying to promote your own hidden agenda by claiming something to make yourself popular is VERY distasteful and consider hypocritic. Also, she lets down the ones who follow her cause in a genuine way by trying to benefit from it.
83.54.44.25 (talk) John again :) —Preceding comment was added at 01:24, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I also added a link to the newspaper article (which was widely referred to by other newspapers in Norway), and a link to the official Norwegian Governments web-page in English about whaling. Since I am no wiki-wizard I am not sure if I categorized them correctly and would be very happy if someone had a look at that bit for me.
83.54.44.25 (talk) John again!
- The presentation of the information from the reference given in the activism section that is only in Norwegian is questionable to me. WP:CITE says that whenever possible, English language sources should be used; and when quoting from a different language source, an English translation should be given with the original-language quote beside it. Giving a translation on the talk page isn't sufficient. The second source, regarding whaling and populations, isn't even pertinent to what it supposedly cites. In other words, the material in the reference isn't even covered. Similarly, the citation further down in the section which is in Japanese requires a translation.
- There is no place in the article, or on the talk page, for anyone's opinion of Panettiere's personality. The talk page isn't a forum for discussion about her personally, only about how to present information in the article itself. As the article stands, it presents her actions, with no interpretation of what they mean, nor does it reflect a bias one way or another. This is how such things should be presented on Wikipedia - objectively. Therefore, the above poster's suppositions on Panettiere's motives is inappropriate.
- Finally, the whale hunting photo was removed because it does not represent an event in which the subject of the article was involved, nor does the subject contain Hayden Panettiere. It's irrelevant to the article. Wildhartlivie (talk) 08:20, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think the article is good now.
- With regards to whaling, I find it natural that it, as it is, remains a separate article in Wikipedia, and that it does not reflect Hayden Panettier's fans opinion about it.
- I had a user, I just forgotten it's password. Jrv73 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 22:43, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Wildhart, a translation has been given on this talk page, as well as with a source. There is no reason for it not to be added into the article. as for it being no place for "for anyone's opinion of Panettiere's personality" it isn't really a opinion of her personality, but an expert criticizing her for using a environmental issue to promote herself. See the Michael Moore article for instance, there is lots of criticism of him on there. Wikipedia should be NPOV, but that doesn't mean that the sources that are reliable and fully cited have to be. As the article stands, it presents her actions, with no interpretation of what they mean, nor does it reflect a bias one way or another. This is how such things should be presented on Wikipedia Yet look at the Adolf Hitler article, there is much interpretation of his actions, and a clear bias against him. --Jadger (talk) 06:58, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Discography
Wikipedia policy regarding unsourced additions is quite clear. This section is a stark, unreferenced, unclear list of words that, without sourcing, tells the reader nothing. A discography needs to make explicit what songs were performed on a soundtrack, what film the song was in and distribution information, including the distribution company, dates of release and pertinent inventory numbers, with references. I've tagged this section for those reasons. To make it clearer, the discography tends to imply that Panettiere did the entire soundtrack of films named Ice Princess and Try. Since she did not, that needs to be clarified. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (lists of works)#Discographies for format. Wildhartlivie (talk) 17:31, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- The discography section is ugly, unreferenced and uninformative. Unless someone addresses these concerns (or at least gives a compelling reason why it should remain), the section ought to be removed from the article. faithless (speak) 09:37, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- I removed it once for those very reasons, but was met with accusations of vandalism for doing so by one editor, who claimed that this discography was there by consensus, which was a misleading statement. Then I tagged it and left the above note. I support removing it until it can be presented properly, with appropriate citations. In any case, another discography example to use as a guide in what to do with this discography is for Janis Joplin. Wildhartlivie (talk) 09:54, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Considering the fact that Panettiere doesn't have a solo album out yet and her only real musical appearances have been on soundtracks, I don't see why a section should be devoted to a discography. I think mentioning the tracks in the article along with video appearances should be fine. I tagged the section quite awhile ago so if its inclusion is incredibly important, it should have been fixed by anyone who objected to it being removed altogether. Dooney & Bourke's the Hayden Bag
Dooney came out with a gorgeous handbag called the Hayden Panettiere (HP) bag. It's a limited edition handbag; limited in quantity especially in brown patent leather (only one left on ebay as of this writing). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.76.57.23 (talk) 03:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
New lead image
I think the new lead image is very poor. The previous image was a lot better and actually was -- gasp -- even a little artistic. And my understanding was it was a Commons image, too. 23skidoo (talk) 03:20, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Confrontation with who?
This sentence doesn't seem right.
She was involved in a confrontation between Japanese fishermen and five other surfers from Australia and the United States (including former Home and Away star Isabel Lucas) of the group.
Does that imply that she got involved in a fight between surfers and fisherman? Or does that imply that she her self is a surfer. If so where in the article does that say she's a surfer. I'd change it myself but I'm sick of getting bitch slapped by wiki nerds.

I have reverted this edit to the earlier picture. Both are properly licensed, and both are reflecting the articles subject well, but the old one is of higher technical quality. Haircut
As of June 2008 Hayden Panettiere cut her hair into an extremely short bob. She currently does not look like the image listed in the article; a new picture should be used. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Olivia Lister (talk • contribs) 01:26, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Not whales, but the cheerleader!
This sentence: The advertising campaign and slogan for the program known as "Save whales, Save the World" has helped make Panettiere famous. is wrong. First, "Save whales, Save the World" is not a slogan used for Heroes. "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World", however, is a slogan used for Heroes. Secondly, "Save whales, Save the World" has helped less to make Panettiere famous than "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World.
So it should be "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" and not "Save whales, Save the World", so please stop editing this sentence back. 81.204.190.215 (talk) 15:20, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Panettiere's arrest warrant claim
Panettiere claims an arrest warrant was issued for her in Japan but an official from the Japanese Fisheries Agency denies her claim.
Shūkan Shinchō December 6, 19992007 issue
(Partial translation) Issuing an arrest warrant for the actress is not even considered as she did not cause a physical damage. It seems a part of their ploy to solicit donations by selling the image that they are victims. (Japanese Fisheries Agency) Tarafuku10 (talk) 13:07, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
The Good Student/Mr. Gibb
I added citation neededs to these two films, as I couldn't find any information about them. Also, from what I could find they both seem to have the same plot, and these might just be different names for the same film or something along those lines. Allanlw (talk) 21:10, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- The filmography list comes from IMDB, and films that aren't yet listed there are usually given a citation needed tag. I'm coming up with questions on this as well. As far as I can confirm, a film titled Mr. Gibb was produced in 2006, with Kevin Spacey as the executive director. From what I can tell, Mr. Gibb did not get a release. I don't know if there is some mysterious release planned for this year under a new title, but I can't confirm that. I am going to remove The Good Student until such a time as there is more definitive information available. Wildhartlivie (talk) 02:36, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm re-adding the citation needed for Mr. Gibb. There is little evidence to prove that this film actually exists, and or was released/produced in 2006. Allanlw (talk) 03:00, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Besides the fact it has full production and cast credits on IMDB, which is considered reliable for such things, I've added three refs for the film. You aren't going to find massive publication on a film that was made and hasn't yet been released to a wide audience. But it didn't take much to confirm it beyond IMDB. It was produced by Kevin Spacey's film production company, Triggerstreet. Is that enough, or do you want more? Wildhartlivie (talk) 04:26, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
