Barreiros (Barriers) is a municipality in Pernambuco with 43,502 inhabitants.

Beaches

Porto beach

Perfect for those who loved wild beauty. Its surrounded by 3 large rocks, and the beach is practically deserted. It is the most difficult beach to reach in all state. To get at this beach, the visitors just have two ways: by beach buggy from Barreiros town center ( 7 km ); the other way, in a walk from the nearby beach of Varzéa do Una in São José da Coroa Grande( 5 km -S).

Mamocambilhas beach

It has dense coconut trees area, stretch of mangal and a rocks path to get there. Beach less frequented, ideal for those seeking tranquility.

Economy

The main economic activities in Barreiros are based in commerce, tourism and agribusiness. Especially coconuts, manioc, sugarcane, bananas; and creations of cattle and buffalos.
