:No, according to [[DSM-IV]] there is a subtle difference. Melancholia is a specifier of a [[Major Depressive Episode]] which is more severe than the criteria for Dysthymia. By the definitions given in DSM-IV the Melacholic specifier cannot be applied to Dysthymia. - No, according to DSM-IV there is a subtle difference. Melancholia is a specifier of a Major Depressive Episode which is more severe than the criteria for Dysthymia.
