Template:Anglican PortalJohn Stewart Went is the Anglican Bishop of Tewkesbury (from 1996). Born on 11 March 1944 he was educated at Colchester Royal Grammar School and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge[1]. Went married Rosemary Dunn[2] in 1968 before embarking on a clerical career with a curacy in Northwood, London[3] followed by an incumbency at Margate. Vice-principal of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford[4]from 1983 until 1989 (when he became Archdeacon of Surrey). In 1996 he became the current suffragan bishop of Tewkesbury[5].
