List of Saw characters

The following is a list of characters who have appeared throughout the Saw series, either as antagonists, protagonists, victims of games, or others. This list places the characters in alphabetical order based on first name, or surname if the former is not confirmed in any Saw media, and then into categories based upon the role they play in the series.

Antagonists

Amanda Young

Main article: Amanda Young

• Amanda Young was portrayed by Shawnee Smith in the films and Jen Taylor in the game.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, Saw: The Video Game

Amanda was a heroin addict who John met at a hospital, and subsequently became one of his first victims. She survived her test and proceeded to become Jigsaw's apprentice. Amanda started to create her own games and traps once Jigsaw became too ill to work. These games included: Detective Matthews test, the Classroom Trap, the Angel Trap, and the Shotgun Collar. The last three were designed to be inescapable, killing the players even if they succeeded in doing what was asked of them. This was due to Amanda's view that nobody changed even if they survived the traps and would simply go back to abusing their lives. She was later shot in the neck and killed by Jeff Reinhart after she shot his wife, Lynn. Amanda's corpse was shown again in Saw IV and Saw V.

Amanda appears in Saw: The Videogame. Jigsaw informs Detective Tapp that he has to save her from a trap that she is in. Tapp finds her strapped to a medical table and is injected with a poison. Tapp has to create an antidote using a machine next to her. After he does so, they head off further into the asylum but are separated and Amanda is kidnapped by a masked figure and dragged off. However, Tapp doesn't know that Amanda is also one of Jigsaw's apprentices and was only put in the trap to make sure the game goes according to plan.

In Saw VI, it is revealed that when Cecil went into the clinic to get drugs, they weren't for him, they were in fact for Amanda, and so she was the cause of Gideon's death. She tried her hardest to keep this from John, but it is then shown that in Hoffman's letter, it was revealed that he knew, and Amanda was to kill Lynn or he would tell John about her. Ultimately, she was the cause of one of the biggest factors of John's transformation into a serial killer.

Jill Tuck

• Jill Tuck was portrayed by Betsy Russell.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI

Jill first appeared in the graphic novel Saw: Rebirth, where it was revealed that she used to be John's girlfriend who broke up with him because of his fear of commitment. This origin was changed in the film series.

She was seen in a flashback in Saw III (with blonde hair, unlike the dark hair she had in the comics), when John was undergoing brain surgery. As the hallucinations proceeded, John confessed his love for her, not knowing that he was actually speaking to Lynn Denlon, the person operating on him. In Saw IV, it was revealed that Jill was John's ex-wife, who ran a rehab clinic with John's motto "Cherish Your Life". Jill was pregnant with a boy (to be named Gideon), but suffered a miscarriage when an addict named Cecil robbed the clinic, striking her with the door during his escape. After losing the baby, John became distraught and distanced himself from her. Multiple clues, including photos of Jill, led FBI agents Lindsey Perez and Peter Strahm to her. After repeated interrogations, Strahm began to suspect her of being involved in the Jigsaw killings while trying to track down Officer Rigg. Finally, after Perez was critically injured, Strahm began screaming at Jill for answers, eventually leading him to Jigsaw's last lair, the Gideon meat-packing plant, where he was locked away.

In Saw V, Jill visited the lawyer in charge of John's estate, who gave her a videotape and a box under the terms of John's will. On the tape, Jigsaw explained his continuing love for her and feeling of responsibility towards her miscarriage, then told her that the items in the box were of grave importance and that she would know what to do with them. Upon looking inside, she became greatly unsettled at what she saw and hurried out, taking the box with her. She appeared later at the FBI informing Agent Erickson that someone in the FBI (presumed to be Peter Strahm) was following her.

In Saw VI, it is revealed that after Amanda survived her "game," John brought her to Jill to prove that his methods work, and that Jill was a part of continuing his legacy after his death; John claimed that he would provide a way out for her when it was finished. She received six folders, a larger folder delivered to an unknown person at a hospital, and the reverse bear trap from the box given to her from John's will. Five of the folders pertained to the game being played by Hoffman, but the last folder contained photos of Hoffman himself, and Jill carried out her instructions to place Hoffman in the reverse bear trap for his own test. Another flashback showed that Hoffman had blackmailed Amanda into killing Lynn Denlon with a letter threatening to reveal to John that Amanda was the one Cecil was stealing drugs for on the night of the miscarriage; Jill placed this letter with Hoffman to implicate him as the apprentice.

John Kramer (a.k.a: Jigsaw)

• John Kramer, also known as the Jigsaw Killer, was portrayed by Tobin Bell.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, Saw: The Video Game

John Kramer was a successful civil engineer. His wife, Jill Tuck, ran a rehab clinic under John's motto "Cherish Your Life", but suffered a miscarriage that ultimately tore them apart. Soon afterward John was diagnosed with an inoperable frontal lobe tumor, and tried to kill himself by driving off a cliff, but survived. The brush with death gave John a new respect for life, and from then on, using his knowledge of engineering, John went on to create devices to test a victim's will to live. He abducted people whom he believed didn't appreciate life and caused them to undergo tests that in some way reflected what he perceived to be their flaws (such as drugs, lies, apathy, negligence, obsession, etc.), and if they passed their test, they would be free to go. He marked his failed test subjects by removing a piece of skin in the shape of a jigsaw piece, from which police coined his alias, Jigsaw. It is later learned that he gained an apprentice in Amanda Young, one of his only surviving players. John was killed by Jeff Reinhart with a circular saw at the end of the third movie.

With Amanda being shot and killed by Jeff in Saw III, it is soon learned that he had another apprentice, who was revealed as Detective Mark Hoffman in Saw IV. During John's autopsy, a tape found in his stomach contained a message for Hoffman that the games would continue despite John's death and Hoffman himself would be tested. Jigsaw appears in Saw V, in a series of flashbacks that depict his recruitment of Hoffman, when Hoffman killed the man who murdered his sister and made it look like a Jigsaw killing. In Saw VI, Jigsaw is once again seen in flashbacks, revealing that he was denied health coverage after he developed cancer. It is revealed that Jill knew about what he was doing. Jigsaw is also seen giving Jill the key for the box in Saw V. The box he had given Jill contained a large manila envelope, delivered to an unknown subject at a hospital, a version of the reverse bear trap used on Amanda, and more envelopes numbered 1-6. The first 5 were subjects for a game set up by Hoffman, seeking revenge on the insurance company executive who had denied John coverage for his cancer. The final envelope was for Jill, containing instructions to put Hoffman into the reverse bear trap for his own test, and to eliminate the last witness who knew of her involvement in the games.

John also appeared Saw: The Videogame, giving hints and clues to the player through Billy the Puppet.

Mark Hoffman

• Mark Hoffman was portrayed by Costas Mandylor.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI

Lieutenant Mark D. Hoffman first appeared in Saw III as a detective working at the crime scene investigation of Troy's demise, where he, Lieutenant Rigg, and Detective Kerry analyzed the scene. While Rigg and Kerry conversed, Hoffman pocketed some of the evidence.

Hoffman later appeared in Saw IV in a trap that was part of a series of tests for Rigg. After Rigg failed his tests, Hoffman removed himself from the trap, revealing himself to be an accomplice of Jigsaw. He then left Rigg to bleed to death in one room, and locked FBI Agent Peter Strahm in another room. FBI Agent Lindsey Perez noted at one point that Hoffman held the rank of Lieutenant and had won a number of awards during his time as a police officer. He is revealed to be the person who wrote the letter to Amanda in the third film. Hoffman was later called to a morgue following the autopsy of Jigsaw, where a tape was handed to him that was discovered in Jigsaw's stomach. The tape stated that although Jigsaw is dead, Hoffman will not go untested.

In Saw V, Hoffman walks out of the Gideon building with Corbett, the daughter of Lynn and Jeff from Saw III. Hoffman claims no one survived, until it is shown that Agent Peter Strahm survived his trap. Strahm then begins investigating Hoffman as a Jigsaw apprentice as Hoffman walked out of the Gideon building untouched, and, according to Strahm, Perez spoke his name just before she died. Throughout the fifth film, a series of flashbacks shows us Hoffman's relationship with Jigsaw. It is revealed that Hoffman's sister was brutally murdered by her boyfriend, Seth, whom Hoffman tries to get revenge on by setting up a Jigsaw type trap. The trap was only designed to torture and kill Seth without allowing him any chance of escape (a flaw shared by the traps Amanda Young later produced), but the police overlooked this fact and blamed it on Jigsaw, who is angered at getting credit for a trap that doesn't fit his modus operandi. Jigsaw captured Hoffman and after initially placing him in a makeshift trap that would have blown his head off with a shotgun, Jigsaw blackmailed him into becoming an accomplice by threatening to reveal what he knew about Seth's demise. Hoffman then begins to help Jigsaw with his work. This included helping set up the razor-wire trap from Saw, setting up Lawrence Gordon as a suspect, and helping prepare the nerve gas house from Saw II. He also helped set up an elaborate game which is discussed just before the events of the third film; this proves to be the series of sewer traps in Saw V, combined with the plot to frame Peter Strahm as Jigsaw's successor.

After realizing Agent Strahm had become increasingly suspicious of him, Hoffman decided to set up a test which he planned for Peter to fail. He took Strahm's phone and planted it near the location of the current game. It is here that he planned for Dan Erickson, who was by this time in charge of the Jigsaw case at the FBI, to find the phone and suspect Peter of being the new accomplice.

Meanwhile, Strahm followed Hoffman into his home. He went downstairs, and uncovers a room with a transparent box filled with glass in the middle of the room. This is the same box Jigsaw had been constructing in Saw IV. Strahm also found a tape instructing him to get into the box. It stated that if he would, he might suffer some pain, but his life would be spared. Strahm decided to ignore the warning, stopping the tape as he hears Hoffman approach the room. Hoffman walked into the room, with no sign of Strahm. Strahm soon appeared behind Hoffman, attacking him. The two engaged in a fight that ends with Strahm pushing Hoffman into the glass box. Hoffman was sealed in the box, and the door to the room closes behind Strahm. Strahm furiously demanded to know how to open the door. Hoffman pointed down at the tape Strahm had just played. Strahm played the rest of the tape, which stated that if he didn't get into the box the room would become his tomb and he would simply "vanish". The glass box, with Hoffman in it, began to lower into the ground while the walls in the room began to close. The tape revealed that Hoffman's legacy would soon become Strahm's, since all evidence in the Jigsaw case now pointed to him. The walls closed, crushing Strahm in the room. The final shot shows Hoffman looking up, through the box covered with Strahm's blood as the walls came to a final close.

In Saw VI, Hoffman is eventually discovered by Dan Erickson and Lindsey Perez after they discover that Simone's trap was made by a copycat. He manages to hunt them down and kill them both inside the police precinct. In the end, Jill captures Hoffman and puts him in the Reverse Bear trap. Hoffman escapes by breaking the bones in his hand and sliding it out of the restraint, allowing him to free himself and jam the trap between the bars on the door, making him able to escape, but with a split jaw.

According to producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg, Hoffman was named after late Saw producer Gregg Hoffman, who died shortly after the announcement of Saw III.

Protagonists

Adam Faulkner-Stanheight

• Adam was portrayed by Saw writer and co-creator, Leigh Whannell.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw III

Adam appeared in Saw as a photographer hired and paid by the discharged Detective David Tapp to follow Lawrence Gordon and take pictures of him. He was targeted and kidnapped by the Jigsaw killer for "being a voyeur" of other peoples lives without indulging in his own. Adam was placed into a game of Jigsaw's, alongside Lawrence. The two of them were chained by the ankle to pipes at opposite ends of a grimy bathroom and given conflicting goals; Lawrence was told to kill Adam by 6:00 in order to save his family, while Adam had to find some way to stay alive. Adam had been initially placed unconscious in a bathtub full of water along with the key to his shackle, which would have allowed him to escape without harm. However, he panicked upon waking up and kicked the stopper loose, causing the key to be sucked down the drain. Adam killed Zep Hindle, whom he thought was Jigsaw, only to discover that the seemingly dead man in the middle of the bathroom floor was alive and the real mastermind behind the events that had happened. He ultimately failed his "test" and was left to die in the trap alone. In Saw III, it is revealed that Jigsaw's apprentice, Amanda Young, returned to the bathroom and suffocated Adam to death to end his suffering. According to the original script, the key was not meant to go down the drain, or at least not right away; Amanda had tied the stopper to Adam's ankle, something she had not been instructed to do. Adam's last name was originally shown as "Faulkner", however, in Saw V, his last name is listed as Stanheight, so Faulkner may be his middle name. Because of this, Adam's surname is not completely clear.

Lawrence Gordon

Dr. Lawrence Gordon

Lawrence Gordon was a doctor and the man responsible with giving the diagnosis of cancer to John Kramer. Following John's transformation into the serial killer known as Jigsaw, John targeted Lawrence to be a victim in his "game" due to an extra-marital affair Lawrence was having with his medical student, Carla. Lawrence woke up, chained by his ankle to a pipe inside an industrial bathroom along with Adam Faulkner. Lawrence was tasked with killing Adam within a set time limit. Lawrence ultimately failed but escaped the trap by sawing off his foot and crawling out of the room.

When Lawrence is mentioned in Saw III, Jigsaw said that he had been Lawrence's patient, and Lawrence had been his. Lawrence's severed foot (still chained to the pipe) was shown in Saw II and Saw III. Also, his office door was shown in Saw II and Saw IV. In Saw III, in a flashback that took place before his game began, Lawrence was shown lying unconscious on the floor in the bathroom.

In Saw V, it was revealed that Hoffman had set up Lawrence as a suspect by placing his penlight at a crime scene. Among the reports of other Jigsaw victims a file on Lawrence Gordon can be seen on a shelf with them labeled as "Potential Jigsaw Victims".

When Leigh Whannell asked Cary Elwes what he thought about his character's fate on the commentary for the Saw: Uncut Edition DVD, Elwes responded with, "Let's face it, guys. He's severed his whole leg off. The loss of blood alone, even with that pathetic tourniquet he made with his shirt. It's a wrap. He's not going to get two blocks." Darren Lynn Bousman said on the DVD commentaries for Saw IV that his intent was to leave Dr. Gordon's fate an unanswered question and let fans make up their own minds.

David Tapp

• David Tapp was portrayed by Danny Glover in the films and Earl Alexander in the game.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw V, Saw: The Video Game

David Tapp appeared in Saw as a detective who was assigned to investigate some of the early Jigsaw-related crime scenes, along with his partner Steven Sing. A penlight left at one scene led him to suspect Dr. Lawrence Gordon as the perpetrator. After studying one of the tapes left by Jigsaw for one of his victims, he found a clue as to the whereabouts of Jigsaw's hideout, and he and Sing rushed over there at night to arrest him. However, when they arrived there, they found a man named Jeff strapped to a chair with two power drills aimed at his head. When Jigsaw arrived, Tapp began to arrest him; however, Jigsaw activated the drills, forcing Tapp to choose between arresting Jigsaw or saving Jeff's life. Tapp chose to arrest Jigsaw while Sing saved Jeff. Jigsaw slashed Tapp's throat. Sing managed to stop the drills from killing Jeff, then pursued Jigsaw throughout the warehouse before being killed by a booby trap.

Tapp survived the neck slash with only a scar on his neck and a noticeable change in his vocal pattern, but was discharged from the force after becoming obsessed with the case. He hired Adam Faulkner to take pictures of Dr. Gordon, whom he still suspected was Jigsaw. Tapp eventually noticed Zep Hindle waiting in Dr. Gordon's house, and at the sound of gunfire, he rushed over and confronted Zep, saving Lawrence's wife and daughter. Zep fled to the sewers, intent on killing Dr. Gordon. After Tapp chased him down, the two fought hand to hand. Though Tapp managed to gain the upper hand, he was shot in the chest by Zep.

Tapp was given a memorial in Saw V, along with Lieutenant Daniel Rigg and Detectives Eric Matthews, Allison Kerry, and Steven Sing. He was also briefly seen in a flashback, questioning Dr. Gordon about the penlight (which was actually planted by Hoffman) found in a crime scene.

Tapp is the main protagonist in Saw: The Video Game In the game, it is revealed that Tapp survived his gunshot wound. He is kidnapped by Jigsaw and trapped in an asylum. He had to play deadly games in order to survive, and choose whether to save other people trapped in the asylum.

In the game's "Freedom" ending, Tapp manages to escape the asylum but commits suicide sometime afterwards by shooting himself in the head in his apartment because he regretted not catching Jigsaw. In the game's "Truth" ending, Tapp becomes insane and is sent to an asylum. However, since Tapp is shown to be dead in Saw V, the "Freedom" ending is the canon ending.

Eric Matthews

Main article: Eric Matthews (Saw)

• Eric Matthews was portrayed by Donnie Wahlberg.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV

Eric Matthews was a detective who led a SWAT team to Jigsaw's latest lair in Saw II, along with his ex-partner Allison Kerry. Eric soon found that his son had been kidnapped by Jigsaw. Matthews was forced to play a game of his own, based on his aggression as a cop who planted evidence and framed many people for crimes they may not have committed. His failure to follow the rules resulted in him being chained to some pipes in an underground bathroom; Amanda Young, one of the people he had framed, turned out to be his captor. However, in Saw III he broke his foot to slip out of the shackle and confronted Amanda. The two fought each other before Amanda kicked him in the ankle and left him for dead.

Matthews returned in Saw IV, placed in another trap as the final stage of Daniel Rigg's interconnected tests. Shortly after the fight with Amanda, he was dragged away to a cell and kept there for six months, during which time he was fitted with an iron brace for his shattered foot. He was killed when Rigg crossed through a trap door, triggering two blocks of ice to crush Matthews' head. Matthews was given a memorial in Saw V, along with Lieutenant Daniel Rigg and Detectives Allison Kerry, David Tapp and Steven Sing.

Daniel Matthews

• Daniel Matthews was portrayed by Erik Knudsen.
• Appeared in: Saw II

Daniel appeared in Saw II as the son of Detective Eric Matthews. He was never aware of his father's corrupt activities. During a visitation with his father, Daniel got caught shoplifting which sparked an argument with his father. After suggesting he go back to his mother's early, Daniel was told to just leave and went missing. As Eric Matthews uncovered Jigsaw's lair, he discovered that his son had been taken prisoner and placed in a house full of nerve gas, along with seven other people. The seven others were all Eric's former convicts, but only after having evidence planted against them by the detective, and if any of them learned of Daniel's identity, he would be killed by them for revenge on Eric. He assisted Laura in getting from room to room, and spoke with Amanda about how to survive as well as helping her get out of a pit of syringes. After heading off with the three females, Daniel realized that his father had set up the others in the house. After Laura died, Addison and Amanda turned their backs on Daniel, knowing he was the corrupt detective's son, despite his protests that he didn't know. At that point, Xavier started his rampage through the house looking for the numbers on the back of everyone's neck which provided the combination to a safe which had an antidote inside (Daniel's number was never revealed, however). Amanda, seeing that Jonas had been murdered, turned back and grabbed Daniel to help him. She led him into the foundation of the house, while Xavier followed close behind. As Daniel weakened, Amanda helped him to keep moving, eventually ending up in the bathroom trap from the first movie. Daniel appeared to pass out on the floor. However, he sprung to life when Xavier reached for him, killing him by slicing his neck with a hacksaw, in the process saving himself and Amanda. After surviving for so long in the Nerve Gas House, he was administered an antidote by Amanda. She brought him to Jigsaw's lair to be locked in a safe with an oxygen pump, as part of Eric's test. The safe later opened up, revealing to Detective Allison Kerry and the rest of the SWAT team that he was alive. Daniel appeared briefly in Saw V lying unconscious when Jigsaw and Mark Hoffman were setting up the house trap. According to the Saw II website, Daniel was written to be 17 years old.

Daniel Rigg

Lieutenant Daniel Rigg

Rigg was a SWAT officer who first appeared in Saw II, assisting detectives Eric Matthews and Allison Kerry in arresting Jigsaw, but ultimately failed to capture the felon after Eric helped Jigsaw escape. He held the rank of Sergeant for this film, but was promoted to Lieutenant before the events of Saw III. Appearing only briefly in Saw III, Rigg was eventually put into a series of tests as the protagonist in Saw IV, in which he had to rethink many of the Jigsaw Killer's ideals. He suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach in his final test; and it was revealed that he died of blood loss in Saw V. Rigg was given a memorial in Saw V, along with Detectives Eric Matthews, Allison Kerry, David Tapp, and Steven Sing.

Lyriq Bent has remarked that: "I didn't know what to expect of his character in the fourth movie. Lieutenant Rigg has really come into himself. In Saw II, he was really the strong, silent type that really didn't know what was going on around him. You had a sense that there was something going on with him internally, and I think that sparked a lot of curiosity in the audience. They wanted to know, 'Who is this guy, and what's he all about?' In Saw IV, you get to find out who he is, and what he's all about, and how he feels about the situation that he's in, and how he feels about the type of work that he's in and people and all that. And I think he's a character that people are gonna like, because they can relate to him on so many different levels. He's a real person. In Saw IV, you get to go on a journey with him, and it's pretty much an emotional journey. At the end, I only hope that the audience will be as exhausted and worn out as he is, because he becomes this broken man." It is revealed in Saw V in a Police Officer memorial service that his first name is Daniel.

Jeff Reinhart

• Jeff Reinhart was portrayed by Angus Macfadyen.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw IV

Jeff was one of Jigsaw's victims in Saw III due to his obsession with vengeance against those that were involved in the death of his son Dylan and the trial of the killer. Jeff was kidnapped and subjected to a series of encounters with those he held accountable for the incident, faced with the choice of helping them to live or allowing them to die in their individual traps. Jeff's final test was a confrontation with Jigsaw himself to prove he had learned how to forgive. Jeff said "I forgive you" but then sliced Jigsaw's throat with a powersaw. Jigsaw's final message was for Jeff to undergo another test, but he was killed by Agent Strahm in Saw IV before he was able to do so. His death is seen again in Saw V, immediately before Strahm found a hidden door leading out of Jigsaw's operating room.

When asked whether he liked his character even though he hesitated in saving people, Angus Macfadyen said, "Yeah, well, I think it's kind of set up in the film that even though you think he could save them, even when he tries to, it's set-up so it all seems a little too late. That was something we were discussing was how long do you wait and pause? Because if you've done that in one room, you know you can't do that in the next because otherwise it's going to be too late for that person. So we were having lots of debates. And also because each scene, you can't play them all the same. You've got to build in each one. So did I like him? I don't think he liked himself very much."

Lynn Denlon

• Lynn Denlon was portrayed by Bahar Soomekh.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw IV (archive footage), Saw V (archive footage), Saw VI (archive footage)

Lynn was a dour and depressed ER doctor who was kidnapped in Saw III with the task of keeping John Kramer/Jigsaw alive until the completion of his latest "game." Lynn was placed in a collar rigged with shotgun shells, which would detonate if she moved too far from Jigsaw or if his heart monitor flatlined. She performed extensive surgery and care to ensure he stayed alive until Jeff Reinhart completed his three tests. Lynn was supposed to be released when Jeff finished, but ultimately Jigsaw's apprentice Amanda Young refused, believing that she had not learned anything from her experience. Amanda was also wracked with jealousy, as she saw John show affection for Lynn and give her more attention. Lynn was critically injured by a gunshot from Amanda, who was subsequently killed by Jeff, who was then revealed to be Lynn's estranged husband. Jeff then killed Jigsaw, unknowingly activating his wife's trap, causing the shotgun shells to shoot into her head and blow it apart. Her corpse is seen again in Saw IV and Saw V. In Saw VI, it is revealed that Jigsaw's second apprentice Detective Hoffman planted a note for Amanda threatening to reveal her involvement in the incident which caused Jill Tuck's miscarriage to Jigsaw if she did not kill Lynn, thus ensuring that Amanda would fail her test.

Peter Strahm

Peter Strahm was first seen along with Agent Lindsey Perez on the crime scene investigation of Allison Kerry's murder. He figured out quickly that there had to be a second apprentice of Jigsaw's, since Amanda Young was too light to lift Kerry into the trap and Jigsaw's cancer had left him too weak to do it. Strahm and Perez had received a message from Detective Kerry before she was killed, in which a key was supplied to them with the words, "Open the door and you'll find me." Perez and Strahm had also been told that two officers might be in danger. Along with Perez, Strahm followed Lieutenant Daniel Rigg's trail of games, believing that Jigsaw might be trying to recruit Rigg. He ripped a camera out of the wall at one scene after deducing that he and Perez were the two officers in danger. Strahm also questioned Jigsaw's ex-wife, Jill Tuck, about how and why her former husband became the Jigsaw Killer. After becoming more aggravated with Jill, he realized the location of Rigg's final test was in fact the Gideon meat-packing plant. Learning the location of the plant from Jill, Strahm raced over to the plant and called for back-up before entering. By the time of the final test he was nearly behind Rigg as he continued to move through a meat-packing plant. Instead of following Rigg, however, Strahm stumbled into the path of Jeff Reinhart's game from Saw III.

When Strahm got to the end of his path he found a heavy steel door. Opening it, he found Jeff Reinhart, who had just killed Jigsaw and Amanda Young. Strahm demanded to see Jeff's hands, but in blind rage of finding out his daughter was in danger of dying, Jeff attempted to attack Strahm, believing him to be in an alliance with Jigsaw. Strahm quickly killed Jeff with two gun shots to the chest. Before Strahm could do anything else, Jigsaw's actual apprentice, Detective Mark Hoffman shut and locked the steel door, sealing Strahm inside the medical room along with the corpses of Jigsaw, Amanda Young, Jeff and Lynn Denlon.

In Saw V, Strahm returned as one of the protagonists. At the start of the film, he found a secret door leading out of the operating room where Jigsaw, Lynn, Amanda, and Jeff were killed, revealed by glow-in-the-dark paint. Beyond this door was a passage, with a micro-cassette recording that warned Strahm not to proceed down the hallway, but Strahm disregarded the message and moved onward. An unknown person, whose face is hidden by a pig mask, captured him and placed him in the Head Box trap, with the intent to drown him by filling it with water. Strahm gave himself an emergency tracheotomy with a pen in order to sustain his breathing and ultimately survived the trap, much to Hoffman's surprise.

Recovering in the hospital, Strahm began to track down Hoffman after hearing that Perez's last word was "Hoffman". He became obsessed with the case, wanting to interrogate Jill Tuck one more time and taking files on the victims from the FBI office. Once Hoffman realized that Strahm was zeroing in on him, he set Strahm up to appear to be the accomplice by strategically planting evidence. Strahm's investigation ultimately led him to a small underground room in Hoffman's house containing a glass box filled with broken pieces of glass. Inside was a micro-cassette from Hoffman, telling Strahm to trust him and get into the box if he wanted to survive. Strahm ignored the tape and attacked Hoffman when he entered the room, eventually shoving him into the box and closing it. Soon after Hoffman told him to play the rest of the tape and it tells Strahm that he will simply vanish if he doesn't trust him. Soon after this the door to the room closed and locked then the walls came together like a trash compactor and crushed him as his blood covered the glass box, which had been safely lowered into the floor.

It is revealed in Saw VI that Hoffman returns to the scene shortly after his death to recover his severed hand from the trap. He uses this limb to place fingerprints at future crime scenes in order to frame the police into thinking that Strahm is the new Jigsaw.

William Easton

• William Easton was portrayed by Peter Outerbridge.
• Appeared in: Saw VI

William Easton was an Umbrella Insurance executive placed in a series of tests in Saw VI. It is revealed through flashbacks that his company was responsible for John Kramer's medical coverage and had denied his wish to participate in an experimental treatment for his cancer.

He is put into a series of four tests, each involving his employees, in order to remove explosive devices that have been strapped to his arms and legs. These tests force him to choose the life or death of his colleagues, in a game mimicking his company's policies regarding its clients. If he does not complete all four in 60 minutes, any devices he is still wearing will explode, dismembering him.

Succeeding in his tests, he finds himself reunited with his sister, Pamela Jenkins, and face to face with the widow and son of a former client who died after William's company had rejected his coverage on a technicality. In a final test, the family must decide whether to spare or execute him. The mother relents when William and Pamela reasoned and convinced her to spare him, but the son, more angered by his father's death then her, pulls the lever. A wall of needles drop onto William's body and kills him with massive injections of hydrofluoric acid, causing him to be horizontally bisected.

Addison Corday

• Addison Corday was portrayed by Emmanuelle Vaugier.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw IV

Addison appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in the Nerve Gas House along with seven other people. It was revealed in Saw IV that she was a prostitute, who offered her services to John outside the clinic where his wife Jill worked on the night she lost their baby before he became Jigsaw. She was later solicited by Detective Eric Matthews, who subsequently arrested her for prostitution. She was shown as an angry, thick skinned, and strong woman, possibly due to her work on the streets. Unafraid of getting in fights with fellow test subject, Xavier, and speaking her mind. It was easy for Jonas to spot that she "didn't get that way by teaching grade school." For a while she was shown convincing the others not to waste time. Upon finding out that Daniel was Eric's son, she separated herself from the team, figuring that she couldn't trust anyone in the house. While under the influence of the toxic gas being pumped throughout the house, she stumbled into a rigged room, where she fell victim to the hand trap, which left her arms stuck inside a glass box, reaching for a syringe, with razor blades lining the arm holes, preventing her from pulling out her arms. Unbeknownst to her, Addison had a number written on the back of her neck, as did the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order, would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote. The number on Addison's neck was a blue 9. As she screamed for help in the glass box, Xavier, another prisoner in the house, came to read the number that had been written on the back of her neck before leaving her to bleed to death. It was revealed in the commentary for the second film that there was a key already in the lock at the back of the box, and all she had to do in order to live was to turn it and grab the antidote by safer means. According to the Saw II website, Addison was written to be 29 years old.

She later appeared for a brief cameo in Saw IV approaching John in his car to offer him "company" while waiting for Jill to lock up the clinic for the night. He tells her she's a beautiful girl and she needs to go home. Addison also appeared briefly in Saw V, lying unconscious when Hoffman and Jigsaw were setting up the house trap. It was shown in Saw V that her family name was Corday, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Alison Gordon

• Alison Gordon was portrayed by Monica Potter.
• Appeared in: Saw

Alison appeared in Saw as Lawrence Gordon's wife. Alison was held hostage with along with her daughter by Zep Hindle as part of Lawrence's test. When Lawrence failed his test, Zep was meant to kill both Alison and her daughter but interference by Detective Tapp allowed Lawrence's family to escape safely.

Allison Kerry

• Allison Kerry was portrayed by Dina Meyer.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV

Allison Kerry was a detective, first seen in Saw, who had worked with David Tapp, Steven Sing, Eric Matthews, Daniel Rigg, and Mark Hoffman on the Jigsaw killer case. She discovered and investigated several of Jigsaw's traps after they had been activated and aided Eric Matthews during his test in order to try and save his son. After Matthews was kidnapped and presumed dead following the events of Saw II, Kerry became wracked with guilt for his loss. After pointing out that a trap did not follow Jigsaw's modus operandi, in that it did not give the victim a chance to escape, and that she did not believe Jigsaw was responsible for it, Kerry herself was captured and placed in her own trap. Though she followed the rules and secured her freedom, the trap was designed by Amanda Young to not release her. The trap was sprung and killed Kerry by destroying her ribcage, her corpse later being discovered by Rigg and the FBI. It was revealed in Saw IV that she was also an FBI contact passing information to Agents Peter Strahm and Lindsey Perez. Kerry was given a memorial in Saw V, along with Lieutenant Daniel Rigg and Detectives Eric Matthews, David Tapp and Steven Sing.

Art Blank

• Art Blank was portrayed by Justin Louis.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Art first appeared in Saw IV. He was a lawyer and was originally involved in a business relationship with John Kramer before he took the mantle of Jigsaw. They were working on the development of houses together before John's unborn child was killed and John spiraled into depression. In his duties as a lawyer, Art successfully defended several people who were guilty of the crimes with which they were accused. This included Brenda (a pimp), Ivan Landsness (a rapist), and Rex (an abusive husband and father). These criminals appeared as victims of traps during the events of Saw IV. He was also Jill Tuck's lawyer.

Art first appeared in a trap with Trevor. After killing Trevor, Art escaped, but went missing for a period of two weeks, during which he was forced to become an unwilling pawn in more of Jigsaw's games. For example, a motel room was rented out to him, where a large amount of equipment was slipped in piece by piece to build a complex trap for Ivan. Art later showed up to try to keep detectives Matthews and Mark Hoffman alive until Daniel Rigg's final test was complete. After the timer for the test expired, Art would have been able to free himself from the threat of a device holding a pair of pincers at the back of his neck that would sever his spinal cord, while also freeing Eric and Hoffman. However, Rigg's interference led to the failure of the test which killed Detective Matthews. Rigg, believing Art to be pulling a gun on him, fatally shot Art in the head, but not before he activated what was really a new tape, revealing the truth about Rigg's game.

Brent and Tara

• Brent was portrayed by Devon Bostick. Tara was portrayed by Shauna MacDonald.
• Appeared in: Saw VI

Tara and Brent were the widow and teenage son of a man named Harold whose health insurance policy was revoked by William Easton, ultimately leading to his death. They were captured and placed in one of two cages at the end of William's series of tests, with Pamela Jenkins in the other. Each cage contained a tank of hydrofluoric acid and a switch with positions marked "Live" and "Die." Once William reached the end, Tara and Brent were given the choice of sparing his life or ending it. Despite expressing anger for her husband's death, Tara listened to the pleas for mercy from both William and Pamela and could not bring herself to throw the switch to "Die." However, a sudden rage prompted Brent to do it himself, triggering a group of needles to swing down into William's back and inject him with hydrofluoric acid. Pamela, Tara, and Brent watched in horror as he dissolved from the inside out.

Brit

• Brit was portrayed by Julie Benz.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Brit was a victim placed in a game in Saw V which involved four other people. In the beginning it was revealed she is the Vice President of a real estate company. From the very beginning she and fellow victim, Mallick, worked together to analyze the traps. She took all five keys from the first room just in case they were needed later in the game, and discovered that one key would have fit all the locks on the collars she and the others were wearing. In the second room she was the first one to receive a key and was not involved in Charles’s death. In the third room she killed Luba, saying she had never trusted her. She then used Luba’s body to connect the several wires together in order to open the door to the next room. In the final room, she realized that a building fire which had killed eight people connected the five victims of these games; she had initiated a plan to burn the building down, knowing that it was not abandoned. In addition, she determined that all five victims could have survived every trap up to this point by working together, rather than allowing one person to die in each room. She, however, worked with Mallick to fill a beaker with the required amount of blood to open the exit from the game. She managed to crawl out of the room. Dan Erickson found her as she fell unconscious, saying "we won, we worked together". Erickson then called for medical assistance.

Cecil Adams

• Cecil Adams was portrayed by Billy Otis.
• Appeared in: Saw IV, Saw VI

Cecil appeared in Saw IV as a habitual addict, hustler, and thief. He was shown to play a major factor in John Kramer's transformation into the serial killer Jigsaw. Threatening Jill Tuck, John's then-wife and an employee at a drug clinic, to get into the clinic at night to steal items (possibly drugs since he was an addict), he caused her miscarriage during his escape by slamming a door open with her behind it, crushing her unborn child. He initially appeared remorseful as he had no intentions to harm Jill, but he quickly began to panic and thus, ran away. The loss of their child made the immoral Cecil a target for John's first trap.

John put Cecil in the knife chair and instructed him on how he could escape, stating that he wished to make Cecil as ugly on the outside as he was on the inside. Cecil pushed through the knives, severely cutting his face in the process. The trap appeared to collapse, and freed Cecil. He then lunged at John, but John dodged out of the way, which caused Cecil to land in a pile of razor wire, which killed him.

In Saw VI, it is shown that he had previous connections with Amanda Young, who convinced him to rob Jill's clinic which he reluctantly did.

Corbett Reinhart

• Corbett Reinhart was portrayed by Niamh Wilson.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw V

Corbett was the neglected daughter of Lynn Denlon and Jeff Reinhart in Saw III. She was kidnapped and hidden away in Jigsaw's lair, given a limited air supply. Her father learned of her presence in the warehouse upon killing Jigsaw, revealing that he would have to play another game to get Corbett back. Her father was shot to death by Agent Strahm in Saw IV. It should be noted that Hoffman was holding one of Corbett's toys in a scene in which he conversed with Perez. Corbett had a brief appearance in Saw V where she was seen with the stuffed animal being taken out of the warehouse and given to a police officer by Lieutenant Hoffman.

Dan Erickson

• Dan Erickson was portrayed by Mark Rolston
• Appeared in: Saw V, Saw VI

Erickson was in charge of the Jigsaw operation at the FBI level during Saw V. After Strahm survived the water trap, Erickson informed him that he is no longer on the case and told him to go home and take some time off. However, later that night he saw Strahm in the building walking out with some items. Strahm told Erickson that he would take his advice and take time off from work. Erickson believed Strahm and went back to his work. Later that night Jill Tuck told Erickson that she thinks Strahm is following her. Erickson attempted to contact Strahm, but Hoffman had taken Strahm’s phone. Hoffman then called Erickson (from his own phone) and told Erickson that Strahm believed there was another accomplice, higher up in law enforcement. Erickson, desperate to find Strahm, put a tracker on Strahm’s cell phone, that Hoffman has placed at the end of a game that was taking place at that time, in an attempt to frame Strahm. Erickson arrived at the room and believed that Strahm was Jigsaw's apprentice. He also found an envelope, which contained pictures of himself inside of it, making it seem like he is the next Jigsaw target. After he found this, he saw Brit and Mallick at the end of their game and called for paramedics to help them.

Erickson returned in Saw VI, doing more of the fieldwork in the latest Jigsaw murder investigation. He revealed that the news of Perez's death was faked in order to keep her safe from Hoffman, as she had figured out his involvement with Jigsaw. As the two agents and an audio lab technician uncovered evidence to link him to the murders, he fatally wounded them both with a knife and tricked Perez into shooting the technician using her as a human shield. He then planted Strahm's fingerprints in the lab and set it on fire to kill them and destroy the evidence.

During the casting of Saw V, William Forsythe was approached to play Erickson, but turned it down due to scheduling conflicts.

Diana Gordon

• Diana Gordon was portrayed by Makenzie Vega.
• Appeared in: Saw

Diana is Lawrence Gordon's daughter in Saw. She, along with her mother Alison Gordon, was taken hostage by Zep Hindle for the duration of her father's test. After Lawrence failed his test, Zep was instructed to kill Diana and her mother but intervention by Detective David Tapp allowed them both to escape safely.

Jonas Singer

• Jonas Singer was portrayed by Glenn Plummer.
• Appeared in: Saw II

Jonas appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in a house full of nerve gas, along with seven other people. It was revealed that he, like several of the others, was framed and sent to jail by Detective Eric Matthews, and it was implied that he had been part of a gang. Jonas seemed to be one of few people in the house using logic, trying to think of a game plan or talk it out. Despite doing his best to gather information in order to survive, as well as keeping the key and tape recorder on himself, Jonas seemed to be one of the most pessimistic in the house. He voiced his skepticism on the existence of antidotes and seemed unwilling to stick himself in the arm to find out what was in the syringes. He tried to keep the group together, not wanting to make any more enemies than he already had. When trying to talk to Xavier about working together they ended up getting in a fight. Xavier soon killed Jonas by hitting him in the back of the head with a nail-studded bat. Unbeknownst to him, Jonas had a number written on the back of his neck, as did the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order, would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote. The number on Jonas' neck was a yellow 16. According to the Saw II website, Jonas was written to be 41 years old. It was shown in Saw V that his family name was Singer, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Laura Hunter

• Laura Hunter was portrayed by Beverley Mitchell.
• Appeared in: Saw II

Laura Hunter, listed as being emotionally fragile, first appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in a house full of nerve gas, along with seven other people. It was discovered that she was framed and put in jail by Detective Eric Matthews, although her crime was never mentioned. According to the Saw II commentary, she was accused of being a kleptomaniac. Once the door opened to the rest of the house, Laura helped Amanda look for clues before finding a door that led down to the furnace. After a tape was played explaining Obi's game, she remembered that it was he who had kidnapped her while she was starting her car. After Obi died in the oven, Laura became weaker, unable or unwilling to stand for very long, instead relying on Daniel for support when she wasn't sitting against the wall. She pointed out a picture with a cracked frame, which led to the discovery of Daniel's father's identity. Laura was then the first to succumb to the effects of the toxic nerve agent being pumped through the house, having a fatal seizure while resting in Amanda's arms. Unbeknownst to her, Laura had a number written on the back of her neck, as did the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order, would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote. The number on Laura's neck was a violet 8. Laura also appears briefly in Saw V lying unconscious when Jigsaw and Hoffman are setting up the house trap. According to the Saw II website, Laura was written to be 24 years old. It was shown in Saw V that her family name was Hunter, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Lindsey Perez

• Lindsey Perez was portrayed by Athena Karkanis.
• Appeared in: Saw IV, Saw VI

Lindsey Perez was an FBI agent, and was Agent Peter Strahm's partner. They had received information concerning the Jigsaw case from Detective Allison Kerry, who had been working on it since the first day. Before Kerry was killed in a trap, she had told Perez and Strahm that two officers might be in danger. A last note from Kerry, delivered with a key, read, "Open the door and you'll find me". Perez, along with Strahm, took over the investigation following the discovery of Kerry's corpse, getting information from Detective Mark Hoffman before he and Lieutenant Rigg went missing. Perez and Strahm then followed Daniel Rigg's trail of tests. At one point, Perez and Strahm found two folders that said, "OPEN THE DOOR AND YOU'LL FIND ME," and, "YOU'RE IN DANGER OF GETTING TOO CLOSE... STEP BACK" at which point Strahm realized that he and Perez were the two officers in danger, as Kerry had warned. At one of the later crime scenes, Perez was almost hit by a misfired spear. Strahm pulled her from the line-of-fire, and the spear instead hit and killed a crime scene photographer. At that point, while waiting for a call to deliver the address of the last building owned by a lawyer, Art Blank, Perez and Strahm learned that the school building they were in was in fact Art's last building. Heading to the office, the agents found a tape recorder tied around the neck of a Billy doll, as some sort of test for Perez. It told her that "her next move was critical" and told her that her partner would kill an innocent man (later revealed to be Jeff Reinhart) before the puppet's face exploded, sending shards into her face and neck. Perez was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

It is implied in Saw V that she died due to her injuries, and that her last words to Strahm were "Hoffman". This caused Strahm to be suspicious of Hoffman.

Her death, however, is proven to be fake in Saw VI, when Hoffman finds her working alongside Dan Erickson. Perez and Erickson examine some abnormalities with the killings in Saw V which lead them to believe that Special Agent Peter Strahm might not have been the additional accomplice they were looking for. When Perez and Erickson receive the Jigsaw tape that was shown to Seth Baxter, they begin to analyze its audio in hopes of finding traces of the initial recording. As they wait for the results, Hoffman, who is on the verge of being identified as the Jigsaw accomplice, is quizzed by Perez over several inconsistencies, which Hoffman brushes aside. When the tape is successfully deciphered and Hoffman is revealed to be the person recorded on it, he brandishes a knife and slashes Erickson's neck. He then turns to Perez and, using the technician working on the tape as a shield to protect himself from Perez's gunshots, viciously stabs her, asking her who else knows about his true identity. Perez, who is bleeding to death, tells Hoffman that everyone knows. Perez then dies from her stab wounds, and is burned in the building along with Erickson and the technician.

Luba

• Luba was portrayed by Meagan Good.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Luba was a test subject of a game in Saw V, along with four other people which involved four rooms. In the first room she is the third to wake up. She attempted to find out what was going on and tried to analyze the traps. She revealed that she came from a rich family, and that she is a city planner. She escaped the first room. In the second room, she and Brit picked up keys, but when Charles stole Mallick's key, she hit Charles with a pole and provided Mallick the opportunity to grab his key to get to safety. In the third room, she was stabbed in the neck by Brit because she "didn't trust her". She was used as a human electrical connector, which activated the door to the final room to open. It was revealed that she was involved in the fire that killed eight people, which linked all five of the participants of the game; a sports team, owned by her father Richard Gibbs, had bribed her to grant permits for a new stadium to be built on the site of the building that burned down.

Mallick

• Mallick was portrayed by Greg Bryk.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Mallick was one of the five victims in the most prominent game in Saw V. Charles noticed burn marks on his arms and asked if he had been playing with fire again. Ignoring both the others and the warning from Jigsaw, he rushed to get the key to let himself out of the neck trap; this action set off a one-minute countdown until everyone still wearing a collar would be decapitated. He made it out of the room. In the second room, he quickly tried to find a key to a safe area. However, Charles attacked him, knocking him to the floor, and took a key from him. Luba then knocked Charles over the head with one of the sticks used to break the jars, then gave the key back to Mallick so he could survive the impending explosion in that room. In the next room, Luba knocked Mallick into the tub in order to use his body as the electrical conductor to open a door. However, Brit fatally stabbed Luba in the neck, and she and Mallick completed the lock circuits using her corpse. Once all the cables were connected, the electrical current was enough to trigger the door to open where their final test would be held.

In the final room, Brit and Mallick realized that all five people involved in the game were connected through an incident in which he burned down a supposedly abandoned building. He discovered after the fact that there were eight people inside at the time, and the deception upset him greatly. Brit then made the discovery that the players were supposed to work together, not kill each other, as the final trap required the players to fill a beaker with ten pints of blood in order to unlock the final door and escape. Brit and Mallick put their arms into a machine fitted with circular saws and filled the beaker; Mallick, his arm having been sliced in half by the circular saw, then passed out from blood loss as Brit crawled out of the room.

Pamela Easton-Jenkins

• Pamela was portrayed by Samantha Lemole
• Appeared in 'Saw: The Video Game, Saw V, Saw VI

Pamela appeared in Saw V as a shady and mysterious reporter at Hoffman's press conference. She asked why it wasn't a joint press conference with the FBI, only to be quieted by the chief of police. In Saw: The Video Game, she is shown to have a crush on the journalist who coined the name, "The Jigsaw Killer" for John Kramer. As told by several notes around the asylum, this ends up with the man, Oswald McGullicuty, pumping her for information then dumping her aside to write a book. In this book he was to write all about Jigsaw with information given to him by Pamela, and not credit her at all. However, Pamela later informed Oswald that she knew that he would use her and took the precaution of stealing all of his notes, leaving him unable to write the book. Oswald was eventually killed in the videogame when he set off a booby-trap.

In Saw VI, Pamela went to Jill Tuck's apartment in an attempt to get more information, but Jill turned her away. Before leaving, she slipped a note under the door that proved to be one of the documents Hoffman left for Amanda Young to find. Pamela was subsequently abducted and placed at the end of William Easton's series of tests, along with the widow and son of a man whose request for a health insurance claim was denied, leading to his death. She watched as the man's son triggered a device that swung a group of needles down into William's body and pumped hydrofluoric acid through them, dissolving him from the inside out. This scene also revealed that he and Pamela were brother and sister. However, the videogame states that Pamela's last name is Jenkins. Because of this, her surname is not completely clear.

Steven Sing

• Steven Sing was portrayed by Ken Leung.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw V

Steven Sing was a detective who was called to the crime scene investigation of one of Jigsaw's victims. He and his partner, David Tapp, were assigned to the case. Tapp found a clue in one of the tapes left over from the crime scene, leading Sing and Tapp right to Jigsaw's hideout. There, they found a man named Jeff stuck in an experimental trap with drills aimed at his neck. Jigsaw arrived and activated the device, telling Sing that the key to stop the drills was on a ring, along with dozens of other keys. Sing shot the drills and deactivated them before pursuing Jigsaw through the warehouse after Jigsaw had slashed Tapp's throat. While chasing down a hallway, Sing accidentally stepped across a tripwire, hidden among cobwebs, which triggered four shotguns hidden above to fire down at him, killing him as Jigsaw escaped. Sing's death was the cause of Tapp's obsession to hunt down and find Jigsaw.

It is revealed in Saw: The Video Game that Sing had a wife named Melissa and a son named Franklin. Melissa encounters Tapp during the game and blames him for the death of her husband.

Xavier Chavez

• Xavier Chavez was portrayed by Franky G.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw III

Xavier appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in a house full of nerve gas along with seven other people. He was a sociopathic drug dealer who was framed by Detective Eric Matthews. Apart from a few logical moves, Xavier was mostly seen using his brawn over his brains. After waking up in the house, Xavier's anger and controlling nature caused him to snap at everyone to stop complaining and do something. He unknowingly caused Gus' death by turning the key which triggered a gun to shoot through the door. Once the door opened, Xavier made it clear he was looking out for himself, but despite being a self-confessed loner, he stuck with the group. He threatened Obi with a knife to make sure he went into a furnace to retrieve two antidotes, and later threw Amanda into a pit of needles that was part of his own game because he didn't want to go in himself. Amanda found the key in the pit that was needed to open a safe to get an antidote, but Xavier fumbled with the key and failed to open the door in time. Blaming everyone else, he finally ditched the group and stumbled back to a safe in the room he had woken up in. Remembering the instructions given to the eight people in the house, he noticed a number on the back of Gus's neck and realized that the numbers that had been written on everyone's neck would give him the combination to the safe (the safe contained an antidote). The combination order of the numbers was done in the order of the colors of a rainbow. Xavier formed a plan, and when trying to get Jonas' number, ended up killing him with a nail-studded bat. He then continued to read the numbers on everyone's neck, in the process finding out that Daniel was Detective Matthews' son. He started hunting down Daniel and Amanda until he heard Addison's cries for help. He then read her number and left her to bleed to death in the razor box trap. He continued his chase, stumbling after Amanda and Daniel in an angry and desperate rage. After cornering the two of them in the bathroom, he realized he'd have nobody to read his own number, and used his knife to cut off the skin off the back of his neck. After doing so, a brief glimpse revealed the number to be an indigo 25. Once that was done, he reached forwards for Daniel, who jumped to life and sliced Xavier's throat with a hacksaw, killing him. Xavier's corpse was seen for a brief moment at the beginning of Saw III, still lying in the bathroom. Xavier also appeared briefly in Saw V lying unconscious when Jigsaw and Hoffman are setting up the house trap. According to the Saw II website, Xavier was written to be 40 years old. It was shown in Saw V that his family name was Chavez, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Zep Hindle

• Zep Hindle was portrayed by Michael Emerson.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw

Zep was an orderly who worked in the hospital where John Kramer, the Jigsaw Killer, was treated for his cancer. He formed a sort of bond with John while he was being treated, but was considered to have "issues of his own" by him. John seemed to see a lot of his own actions in Zep's goals, reminding him of himself before he was diagnosed with cancer. Zep would later be forced to watch Adam Faulkner and Dr. Gordon play out their game that took place in a bathroom. If Lawrence failed to kill Adam by 6 o'clock, then Zep would be forced to kill Lawrence's wife and child, whom he had been holding hostage, in order to save himself from the slow-acting nerve agent in his bloodstream. He would then have to kill Lawrence himself and presumably retrieve an antidote from Jigsaw. Lawrence failed, but his wife and daughter managed to escape from Zep's grip before he could kill them, as Zep was attacked by David Tapp, a former detective who was watching the Gordons' home from across the street. Zep was forced to flee down to the sewers to kill Lawrence, but Tapp followed him, which resulted in a small fight. Zep managed to shoot Tapp in the stomach and continue to the bathroom, where he found Adam and Lawrence. Lawrence shot Adam, and tried to shoot Zep, but didn't have enough bullets. As Zep was about to kill Lawrence, Adam pulled his leg out from under him and attacked him with a toilet cover, bludgeoning him to death with it. Throughout the film, Zep is presented as a red herring, with the audience being encouraged to believe that he was Jigsaw, rather than a victim of one of Jigsaw's games. Although he was forced to observe Adam and Lawrence, as well as hold Lawrence's wife and child hostage, he seemed to enjoy it. He waved at Adam and Lawrence through a monitor quite sinisterly in one scene, and frightened his captives in another, holding a gun to Diana's head and using a stethoscope to listen to her heart at the same time. On the commentary for Saw, Leigh Whannell and James Wan stated that they wrote the scene to show that Zep enjoyed the sense of power he was given over others which he did not have before. Zep's decomposed corpse was later seen in Saw II and Saw III.

Minor characters (Victims)

Addy and Allen

• Addy was portrayed by Janelle Hutchison; Allen was portrayed by Shawn Ahmed.
• Appeared in: Saw VI

Addy, William's secretary, and Allen, his file clerk, were placed into the second of his four tests. They stood side by side on small ledges, with barbed wire nooses around their necks, and William had to pick up two chains that were connected to the ledges. Addy was in poor health but had a family, while the younger Allen had none but was in good health. In order to move on, William had to drop one chain and let that person die. He ultimately chose to save Addy, allowing Allen to bleed and strangle to death when his ledge retracted.

Ashley

• Ashley was portrayed by Laura Gordon.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Ashley was a test subject in a game in Saw V, which involved five participants. In the first room she was the first to wake up, and warned the others not to move. Early in the movie Charles revealed that she was an ex-fire inspector. In the first game, Ashley is unable to get the key to free herself due to the rest of the group struggling to get their keys, which resulted in her being decapitated. It was later revealed that, during her work as a fire inspector, she was bribed to write a false report on the fire that Mallick set so that it would appear to be an accident which cost her job.

Brenda

• Brenda was portrayed by Sarain Boylan.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Brenda appeared in Saw IV as the victim of a trap, with numerous pictures hung around the room revealing her to be a pimp. Daniel Rigg was instructed to simply walk away from the trap, while Brenda was informed that if he saved her, she would have to kill him to avoid arrest. After her scalp was partially torn back by the trap, Rigg managed to save her. As he ran to get a towel, she grabbed a knife and began swinging at him, but was thrown into a mirror. She was later found dead. It was later revealed that Art Blank was her lawyer who helped her avoid legal prosecution for her crimes.

Carousel Room Victims

Aaron, Dave, Emily, Gena, Josh, and Shelby were six of William Easton's junior associates, who did the investigative work to weed out health insurance applications and claims that should be denied. They were placed into the last of William's four tests, chained to a carousel and facing a shotgun. William could choose two of them to be saved, by pushing buttons that would drive spikes into his hands, while the other four would die. If he did nothing, all six would be killed. They argued and accused one another of trying to win William's favor as he struggled with his decisions. Ultimately he chose to save Emily, for having a family at home, and Shelby, after being desensitized to the killings and the pleading for her life. Aaron, Gena, Dave, and Josh were left to die in that order. Josh became outraged and angry at William for choosing Shelby instead of him, criticizing him and shouting for William to look him in the eye as he prepared to die.

Charles

• Charles was portrayed by Carlo Rota.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Charles was a victim in a game in Saw V which involved four other people. He was shown as a smart man who knew information about the other participants of his game, but did not reveal how he knows these things, until later, when he revealed that he was a reporter for a news column called The Herald. After Mallick went for a key in the first room, Charles pulled him back and got his own key. In the second room he and Brit analyze the room. However, when he believed one person had to die, he hit Mallick with a bar to get a key and attacked Luba when she tried to stop him, claiming it was a "survival of the fittest". However, Luba knocked him over the head with a bar which caused him to drop the key and fall to the ground while Mallick was able to get to safety. Seconds before the bomb goes off he realized that the traps were meant to get them to work together and five people could have fit in the three safe zones, but he was killed before he could tell the others what he figured out. It was revealed he was writing a report on the fire incident and Mallick knew about it.

Danica Scott

• Danica Scott was portrayed by Debra Lynne McCabe.
• Appeared in: Saw III

Danica Scott was the only witness to the death of Jeff Reinhart's son, Dylan. Instead of staying to testify, Danica fled the scene, and was later kidnapped as part of Jeff's tests. She was stripped nude and suspended by the wrists in a freezer room. The key that would free her was hanging behind a set of frozen pipes. Once Jeff entered, cold water began spraying on Danica, and she was able to convince Jeff to help her. He managed to get the key, tearing part of his cheek off in the process when it froze onto the pipes. However, he was unable to open the lock, which was already covered with ice, and Danica had frozen to death. According to the final draft of the Saw III script, Danica was written to be in her 30's.

Debbie

• Debbie was portrayed by Caroline Cave.
• Appeared in: Saw VI

Debbie is the attorney who works for William in his insurance firm. She is found in the Steam Room Trap by William with a device attached to her chest that will discharge a spear in 90 seconds, impaling her through the head. In order to survive, she must make her way through a maze, with William helping her by diverting jets of scalding hot steam away from her and onto himself. She makes it through to the end of the maze, severely burning herself in the process. The two then try to look for a key that will free her of the device. It is revealed in photos and X-ray films that the key to her survival was inside of William. Debbie then picks up a nearby circular power saw and attacks him. They struggle for a little while, and soon, the timer to her device expires and she is killed.

Gus Colyard

• Gus Colyard was portrayed by Tony Nappo.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw IV, Saw V

Gus, listed as being a rash and angry business man, appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in the house full of nerve gas, along with seven other people. Like most of the other prisoners, Gus was framed by Detective Eric Matthews, although what he was framed for was never spoken of. However, the Saw II commentary suggested that it was for embezzlement. Waking up in the small starting room with the others, he questioned how they just woke up in a room with no recollection of where they were. On the realization that he and the others had been kidnapped, he began to get paranoid. He remembered a movie he saw on TV about a reporter who spent 9 years locked in a cell with no light, wondering if something similar awaited him. He continued to panic before he sided with Xavier in a small argument with Amanda concerning a key, desperate to get out of the room and regain some control over the situation. Gus peered into the peephole of the locked door as Xavier turned the key in the keyhole, which triggered a gun to go off and shot Gus in the eye through the peephole. Unbeknownst to him, Gus had a number written on the back of his neck, as did the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order, would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote. The number on Gus' neck was a red 2. Xavier stumbled upon the numbers when he accidentally pulled off the coat covering Gus' corpse while trying to get into the safe. Gus appears again briefly in Saw IV during a scuffle with Cecil inside the health clinic. Gus briefly appeared in Saw V in a flashback scene showing Jigsaw and Mark Hoffman setting up the house for his game and the gun that killed him, while he was unconscious. According to the Saw II website, Gus was written to be 38. It was shown in Saw V that his family name was Colyard, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Halden

• Halden was portrayed by Barry Flatman.
• Appeared in: Saw III

Halden was the judge that had presided over the trial of Timothy Young, the drunk driver who killed Jeff's son, Dylan. Jeff was angry with him because he had only sentenced Timothy to six months in prison. Jeff got his chance at revenge on the judge in Saw III, while walking through a warehouse filled with tests. Judge Halden was found by Jeff, bound at the neck at the bottom of a vat. In an adjacent vat, several circular saws were activated, and a rotating chain began to drop dead pigs into the saws. A chute connecting the two vats poured the liquefied remains onto the judge. Jeff had to burn all of his son's possessions in an incinerator to retrieve the key needed to unlock the chain across Halden's throat. After trying to reason with Jeff, stating that he had a son of his own and that he could attempt to extend the sentence, Halden was saved from drowning in the ground up pig remains. The judge then followed Jeff to one of his last tests, still trying to comfort Jeff and trying to convince him to save Timothy. As Halden tried to find a way to save Timothy, Jeff accidentally set off a shotgun that fired into Halden's head, resulting in his death. Halden watched as Jeff screamed his forgiveness for Timothy just before dying. According to the final draft of the Saw III script, Halden was written to be in his 50s.

Hank

• Hank was portrayed by Gerry Mendicino.
• Appeared in: Saw VI

Hank was the janitor who cleaned William Easton's office in the Umbrella Insurance building. When William awoke after being captured, he found himself facing Hank; both men were suspended upright with vises clamped onto their chests and breathing masks on their faces. Videotaped instructions from Jigsaw revealed that Hank smoked heavily, despite a history of health problems, and that only one of the two men could survive. Every time either man took a breath, the vise on his chest would tighten. William urged Hank to hold his breath as long as possible, but Hank's smoking habit had reduced his lung capacity. He eventually began to gasp for breath, leading to his ribcage being fatally crushed.

Ivan Landis

• Ivan Landis was portrayed by Marty Adams.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Ivan appeared in Saw IV as the clerk of the Alexander Motel. He was suspected of multiple, vicious rapes but freed repeatedly due to the efforts of his lawyer, Art Blank, Ivan was to be part of Daniel Rigg's second test. Following instructions, Rigg confronted and abducted Ivan, threatening him with a gun while forcing him into an adjoining motel room. There, they were both confronted with photographic evidence of Ivan's crimes, including a video recording of him raping a young girl. Enraged, Rigg instructed Ivan to place himself into the trap laid out across the bed, and supplied him with the tools to escape. As the sixty-second timer for the trap was activated, Ivan blinded his right eye, but he failed to activate the second switch in time. The device sprang to life, and Ivan was torn apart, his right leg and arms removed from his torso, his left leg was not fully removed and he was torn off the bed by his last limb.

Jeff Ridenhour-Thomas

• Jeff was portrayed by Ned Bellamy in the film and Dex Manley in the game.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw: The Video Game

Jeff first appeared in Saw as a victim of one of Jigsaw's experimental traps. Jeff was bound to a chair with two drills facing his neck. Once activated, the drills moved towards his neck, and Detective Steven Sing was told that the key to stop them was on a ring filled with dozens of keys. Instead of using a key, Sing shot the drills, successfully deactivating them. He is not to be confused with Jeff Reinhart, the protagonist of Saw III. He also appears in Saw: The Video Game. He is shown to have become suicidal from Detective Tapp repeatedly questioning him about Jigsaw. Detective Tapp saves him and he runs away. His last name is stated to be Thomas in the videogame. Because of this, his surname is not completely clear.

Mark Rodriguez Wilson

• Mark Rodriguez was portrayed by Paul Gutrecht.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw

Mark, a 30 year old software analyst, was first featured in Saw and later in Saw: Rebirth as one of Jigsaw's first targets. John saw him at the hospital, where Mark claimed to be sick or have injuries of some sort as an excuse to skip work, when in fact he was perfectly healthy. This was enough for John to make him one of his first test subjects as Jigsaw.

Mark was stripped of his clothes in a dark room, and had a slow acting poison in his bloodstream. From the message Jigsaw left for him, Mark learned that the antidote was inside a safe in front of him and the combination was written on the wall. However, the wall was filled with hundreds of numbers. The floor was covered in glass, and Mark's body was smeared with a flammable substance. The only source of light in the room was a wax candle. Slowly, Mark began to try each combination. However, he fumbled with the candle and ignited the substance covering him, burning him alive. His charred corpse was found by the police some time later. In Saw V a list was shown of Jigsaw's victims and it indicated that his last name was Wilson, so Rodriguez may have been his middle name.

Michael Marks

• Michael Marks was portrayed by Noam Jenkins.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw IV

Michael appeared in the opening scene of Saw II. He found himself in one of Jigsaw's contraptions, set to drive nails into his head if he couldn't unlock his harness in time. Jigsaw took an interest in him because of his occupation as a police informant, working for Detective Eric Matthews. According to Jigsaw, Michael was unworthy of his life; he was a "rat" and used his eyes to snitch on other people. While heavily sedated, a key was surgically placed behind his right eye. Michael tried numerous times with a scalpel to retrieve the key, but gave up, not wanting to suffer the pain of removing his own eye. He died when the Venus Flytrap-Death Mask closed on his head. Detective Eric Matthews later identified his corpse at a crime scene investigation.

Michael was seen again later in a flashback in Saw IV, in the waiting room of Jill's clinic. It was shown in Saw V that his family name was Marks, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Morgan

• Morgan was portrayed by Janet Land.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Morgan, a school teacher, appeared in Saw IV as the wife of a suspected physical abuser, Rex. Despite evidence, the police were unable to act upon her husband because both she and her daughter, Jane, refused to testify against him. Morgan was later put into a test with her husband involving numerous rods pierced through them. Jigsaw suggested that Morgan should free herself from her ties with her husband, as they had been harmful both to herself and her daughter. She did so by removing all but one rod, killing her husband in the process (the rods were strategically placed throughout their bodies so that while her injuries would eventually cause her to slowly bleed to death, removing hers would pierce vital arteries and veins in her husband, which would kill him). She was found unconscious by Daniel Rigg, who then handed her the key to her locked harness and told her that she had to save herself (an alternate cut also showed Rigg removing the last rod pierced through Morgan before handing her the key). Rigg then left for his next test after pulling a fire alarm and leaving. When found by Agents Peter Strahm and Lindsey Perez and their forensic team, Morgan stated that Rigg saved her.

Obi Tate

• Obi Tate was portrayed by Tim Burd in the films and Marc Carr in the game.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw III

Obi first appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in house full of nerve gas along with seven other people. He was seen quietly lurking in the background while the others argued. It was only when the envelope with his name was found that he finally spoke up. It was revealed in an audio tape addressed to him by Jigsaw that he helped kidnap the others, but he claimed he didn't even know the way out himself. His test would have allowed him to get two antidotes for the poisonous gas being pumped into the house, breathed in by the prisoners. He had to crawl into a furnace and grab the two syringes from the chains inside, one of which was a gift to him for helping to kidnap the other victims and the other for him to donate. Although the tape stated two antidotes were available the first one was a legitimate, safe antidote while the second one triggered the door to be closed and the furnace to ignite. The tape he was given said "Remember, Obi, once you are in Hell, only the Devil can help you out." In the furnace there was a knob with a devil sketched over it which if he turned could have stopped the fire but would have had to crawl through the fire. This trap seemed to be ironic as, according to the Saw II commentary, Obi was accused of being an arsonist. He ended up dying as he attempted to crawl through a broken window on the other side of the furnace. Obi did not know that he had a number written on the back of his neck, like the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order of colors in a rainbow, as said by Jigsaw on the tape "the clues to their order can be found over the rainbow," it would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote in the first room the seven woke up in. The number on Obi's neck was a green 11. Obi also had a brief appearance in Saw III, in which he can be seen in John Kramer's flashback after his brain surgery. He also appeared in Saw V being dragged into the room where he woke up in for his test in Saw II by Mark Hoffman, in a flashback sequence. He appears in Saw: The Video Game, which is set between the first and second film. In Saw: The Video Game. he is caught by Jigsaw and ironically put in a furnace room that would burn him to death if Detective Tapp didn't save him. It is also revealed in the game that Obi wants to be tested and can't live without it. He believes in Jigsaw's way of rehabilitation and thinks of it like a gift. After Tapp frees him from the furnace he runs away from him and goes further into the asylum.

Paul Leahy

• Paul Leahy was portrayed by Mike Butters.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw, Saw IV, Saw V

Paul was one of John's first victims. According to Saw: Rebirth, Paul worked at Standard Engineering Ltd., while in the Full Disclosure Report: Piecing Together Jigsaw documentary, Paul was listed as a 46-year old accountant. Paul was a bore, but had a good life with a wife and kids. However, in what John would believe to be more of a cry for attention than a suicide attempt, Paul ran a straight razor across his wrists and was admitted to the Angel of Mercy hospital shortly after John had learned of his cancer. After John's transformation into the serial killer known as Jigsaw, Paul was targeted for his previous actions and was placed in a large cage lined with a maze of razor wire. He had to get to the exit by finding a path through the maze, but he only had 2 hours before the door to the room he was in would close, sealing him in. The irony in the situation was that if he wanted to live, he'd have to cut himself again. If he wanted to die, all he had to do was wait. Paul didn't make it to the exit, and died hanging on the wires. According to Detective Allison Kerry, Paul was 46 years old at the time of his death.

Paul was seen again later in a flashback in Saw IV, leaving Jill's drug clinic. In Saw V it was revealed that Jigsaw and Hoffman captured Paul together in an alley. They bump the rear of his vehicle with their vehicle, just as he prepares to slit his wrists for a second time. When he gets out to investigate he is attacked and captured by Jigsaw and Hoffman, who were both wearing pig masks. Paul nearly fought the two of them off, but was eventually sedated by Jigsaw.

Rex

• Rex was portrayed by Ron Lea.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Rex, a school teacher, was the abusive husband of Morgan and was also suspected of abusing his daughter, Jane. However, since neither Morgan nor Jane testified against him, he was never sentenced. Rigg ended up punching Rex after talking to his daughter about her bruises. Art, Rex's lawyer, threatened Rigg with a lawsuit but dropped the matter after Hoffman backed Rigg's claim of self-defense. Rex was later put into a test with his wife, in which he was doomed to die if Morgan tried to free herself. Rex bled to death as Morgan proceeded to try to escape.

Seth Baxter

• Seth Baxter was portrayed by Joris Jarsky.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Seth Baxter was the boyfriend and murderer of Hoffman's younger sister. After serving five years of a life sentence in prison, he is released on a technicality. Hoffman, enraged by the death of his only family, kidnaps Seth and puts him in a trap that mimics Jigsaw's methods. Seth did what was asked of him and crushes his hands, but a pendulum blade, which was swinging back and forth, sliced him in half anyway. Just before he was sliced in half by the pendulum, Seth turned his head to see an eye watching him from a hole in the wall. Hoffman had designed the trap to torture and kill him in order to avenge his sister's death.

Simone and Eddie

• Simone was portrayed by Tanedra Howard; Eddie was portrayed by Marty Moreau.
• Appeared in: Saw VI

Simone and Eddie, two predatory lending bankers, took part in a test in Saw VI in which they were placed in adjoining cells. Since they had figuratively extracted their "pound of flesh" from loan recipients who could never pay them back, they would literally have to do the same in order to survive. Each victim wore a head harness with screws poised at the temples, and had an assortment of edged implements on hand. A balance scale was placed between the two cells; whichever captive cut off the most weight in body parts and threw them onto the scale in 60 seconds would live, while the other would be killed by the screws boring into his/her skull. Eddie sliced several chunks of flesh from his stomach, but Simone severed her left arm and tipped the scale in her favor, leading to Eddie's death. Simone survived and was later questioned by Hoffman and the FBI in her hospital room.

Timothy Young

• Timothy Young was portrayed by Mpho Koaho.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw VI

Timothy Young was a drunk driver who had accidentally hit and killed Jeff Reinhart's son, Dylan. Timothy only received 6 months in prison for his crime due to an apparent lack of witnesses present at the trial (Danica Scott, the only witness, fled the scene at the time it happened), and it was later revealed that he was a medical student and was on his way to becoming a doctor after being released from prison. He appeared in Saw III kidnapped and placed in a cross-shaped mechanism Jigsaw called "The Rack", based on a torture device of the same name, which began twisting Timothy's hands and feet around in a 180 degree angle, breaking his bones before beginning to twist his head around. To the right was a glass box; inside was a key tied to the trigger of a shotgun. Jeff would have to "take a bullet" for Tim if he wanted to save his life. Jeff removed the key while avoiding the shotgun's blast, but he failed to locate the lock in time and pleaded for the trap to stop before Tim's neck was broken. According to Jigsaw, Timothy was 27 when he died. Mpho Koaho returned briefly as Timothy in Saw VI, and was shown being put into the Rack trap by Hoffman.

Troy

Troy first appeared in Saw III as a victim in one of Amanda's first known traps. According to the tape played in his test, Troy had been sent to prison multiple times despite a good upbringing although the charges for his imprisonment are not mentioned. His multiple prison terms are what made him a target for Jigsaw. Waking up in an empty classroom, he found himself bound by eleven chains hooked through his flesh and bones in numerous places, including his hands, arms, shoulders, obliques, Achilles tendons, and mandible. He was forced to attempt to tear them all out and escape before a bomb went off in the room, but was unable to get the chain out of his mandible in time before being blown to pieces. Detective Allison Kerry, Detective Mark Hoffman, and Lieutenant Daniel Rigg later investigated the gruesome scene, realizing that Jigsaw was not responsible for the trap, as it had no escape. The door to the room had been welded shut preventing him from exiting even if he had removed all the chains from his body.

Troy was later seen in a flashback in Saw IV, in the waiting room of Jill's clinic.

Angelina Hoffman

Angelina Acomb appeared in Saw V. She was Lieutenant Mark Hoffman's sister, who was murdered by Seth Baxter. Her death resulted in Mark setting up the pendulum trap for Seth, with the same M.O as Jigsaw, although he made the trap inescapable..

Carla

• Carla was portrayed by Alexandra Bokyun Chun.
• Appeared in: Saw

Carla appeared in Saw as a medical student of Lawrence Gordon. She was seen learning from him while talking about a cancer patient, John Kramer. Later, it was revealed that Lawrence had been having an affair with Carla, but decided to break it off. Before he left the hotel room that she had rented, the phone rang, and Carla gave it to him, and they heard a man's voice revealing that someone knew about the two of them. When Lawrence was suspected of being the Jigsaw Killer, he was advised to tell the detectives his alibi for the date in question, at which time he told them about being with "someone who wasn't a patient," indicating Carla.

Chris

• Chris was portrayed by Alan Van Sprang.
• Appeared in: Saw III

Chris was the man Dr. Lynn Denlon was having an affair with. He indicated genuine feelings for her by asking her for greater committment to him by divorcing her husband, Jeff. Lynn, however, did not seem to have any genuine feelings for Chris.

Deborah

• Deborah was portrayed by Kim Roberts.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw IV

Deborah was a nurse at the Angel of Mercy hospital along with Dr. Lynn Denlon in Saw III. She entered the locker room to retrieve Lynn to stabilize a little boy who was in a car accident. After Lynn does so at the last second, Deborah pulls her aside and tells Lynn to leave her problems at home, seeing that they are affecting her work as a doctor. Lynn leaves Deborah in the middle of their discussion and goes to her locker room, where she is then kidnapped. Nurse Deborah made a brief appearance in Saw IV. She was the nurse who appeared and helped Jill with her miscarriage.

Dylan Reinhart

• Dylan Reinhart was portrayed by Stefan Georgiou.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw IV

Dylan only appeared in flashbacks and photographs in Saw III and Saw IV as the dead son of Jeff Reinhart and Lynn Denlon. He was killed in a car accident by Timothy Young. His death impacted the Reinhart family greatly, causing Jeff and Lynn to separate, Lynn to be depressed and Jeff to be vengeful against the man who'd killed him.

Fisk

• Fisk was portrayed by Mike Realba.
• Appeared in: Saw IV, Saw V

Detective Fisk informed Agents Lindsey Perez and Peter Strahm in Saw IV that Lynn Denlon was missing from the hospital. He was also an active member on the police force as Rigg completed his tests. Fisk appeared at the beginning of Saw V, arriving with SWAT at the Gideon Building. He was later seen telling Hoffman (in a flashback) that they found a body that appeared to be a Jigsaw trap. He was also seen with Hoffman at the crime scene investigation of Seth's demise.

Harold

• Harold was portrayed by George Newbern.
• Appeared in Saw VI

Harold was a man whose health insurance policy was canceled by William Easton after he became ill, as seen in flashbacks. William's team of investigators had found a minor error in Harold's original application, leading to the policy's cancellation and eventually to his death. His widow Tara and his son Brent were abducted and placed at the end of William's series of tests, where they were given the chance to either forgive him or avenge Harold's death.

Heffner

• Heffner was portrayed by James van Patten.
• Appeared in: Saw IV, Saw VI

Dr. Heffner appeared in Saw IV. He was one of the doctors performing Jigsaw's autopsy. He found a tape inside Jigsaw's stomach encased in wax and asked for the other staff member in the morgue to call the homicide department. In Saw VI, he commented on the puzzle piece cut from one of the latest victims, noting that the incision was similar to that made on only one other victim - Seth Baxter. Also in Saw VI, he commented on the fact that he has handled all of the autopsies from the Jigsaw murders.

Jane

• Jane was portrayed by Alison Luther.
• Appeared in Saw IV

Jane was the daugther of Morgan and Rex. She was abused by her father and lacked protection from him from her mother. Lieutenant Daniel Rigg identified that she was being abused when he noticed visible bruisings on her body.

Jigsaw's victim in the 2003 promotional short. This character played the part of Amanda in the short film, which was an early version of the Jaw Splitter scene. He was portrayed by Leigh Whannell, who portrayed Adam in the first official film.

Melissa Sing

Melissa is the widow of Detective Steven Sing, who was killed after having his head blown off in Saw. She was saved by Tapp, but later revealed in the Truth ending, she was held against her will and forced to work for Jigsaw and keep the game going until 6:00, or her son would die. She is killed by a shotgun trap in the Truth ending but was saved along with the other victims in the asylum in the Freedom ending.
