I heard about this recently during a conversation with Mayor [[Pete McCracken]], and I could find no information on it during a quick but not exhaustive search. Porterville-Fresno Fantasy Basketball League?

- From what I know about pro sports, the PFBL was a proposed minor league basketball league for the San Joaquin Valley to premiere in the 2007-08 season, to have six teams: Two in Porterville (the Junior College Gymnasium) where the league is based in, a team in Visalia, Tulare, Fresno and Clovis. The region has a huge representation of teams in the Minor League Football Association of American football, and the California Collegiate Baseball League of minor league baseball has many teams in the Fresno-Tulare area. + 71.102.53.48 (talk) 17:19, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- The correct name is the Central California Basketball League and is no longer in operations as of the 2009-10 season. The number of teams are at six, only one team in Fresno and Clovis, the other in Visalia and Tulare, and Porterville has one not two teams. Also a team played in Bakersfield in the Buck Owens sports Arena and another in Merced in their new state university gymnasium. I wasn't able to uncover much in the google search engine, therefore the league's official web site must have vanished from cyberspace. + Mike D 26 (talk) 15:58, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Porterville's Southeast Asian community
Maybe we could noted if I have the right sources (US census?) the 2,500 Southeast Asians in Porterville, mainly of Laotian, Cambodian and Thai descent arrived since the 1970's, the Vietnamese community grew many times, and a large Filipino population made Porterville one of America's largest Southeast Asian communities. + 71.102.53.48 (talk) 17:22, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Barn Theater
I'm not sure who added the lovely tidbit about the Barn being one of the best community theaters in the nation, but whoever it was obviously hasn't gone to a show there in several years.
