EveryScape is an online mapping service that allows its users to view panoramic images from various locations. The site currently has images of 21 cities and towns:
EveryScape is attempting to compete with Google's Street View service, which currently offers views of more than 40 U.S. cities and is rapidly expanding[1]. EveryScape differs from Street View in that the service also displays the interiors of some buildings[2][3].
Releases
Everyscape made its debut on October 29, 2007, with the cities of Boston, New York, Miami, and Aspen, Colorado[4].
On December 13, Lexington, Massachusetts was added, and on January 17, 2008 came Cambridge, Massachusetts. Laguna Beach, California was added a week later on January 24.
On April 7, 2008, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. were added[5][6]. Later in the month, Beverly Hills was added.
Future
The company, based in the Boston area, has recently secured $7 million in funding for a planned expansion[7][8].
EveryScape is currently working on creating images of Dallas, Texas[9].
