"Burning a Sinner"
Song
A-side"Burning a Sinner"
B-side"Satans Children"

"Burning a Sinner" is a song by doom metal band Witchfinder General. It was released as a single in 1981, which is their debut release. An alternate version was later featured on their first album, Death Penalty. In 1996 the single was reissued by Old Metal Records with an the colors of the cover inverted. In 2004 Phoenix Records released a 12" that features both songs from the single as the B-side. The A-side features two songs from the Soviet Invasion EP. In 2007 the single was released on CD for the first time on the compilation Buried Amongst the Ruins. The original single had a very muffled and distorted sound. It is said this was due to Paul Birch (proprietor of Heavy Metal Records) leaving the master tape on top of a large speaker at his offices before sending it to the cutting studio. The 'B' side Satans Children is quite of interest because that title was almost the bands name.
