Anushka Sharma (Kannada:ಅನುಷ್ಕಾ ಶರ್ಮಾ, born 1 May 1988)[2] is a model and actress in the Bollywood film industry. In 2008, she played the female lead role in the Bollywood film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, directed by Aditya Chopra, who earlier directed hits like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Mohabbatein (2000).

She has an elder brother named Karnesh[3] who was a state-level cricketer and is now in the Merchant Navy.[4] She studied in Army School and graduated with specialization in arts from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.But she is a little squint eyed [5]
Career
Her first acting role was in Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She currently has a contract to do two more movies with Yash Raj Films but is free to do films outside YRF to further her career if she wishes.[4] She is currently filming for another Yash Raj Film titled Right Hand Man with Kareena Kapoor (directed by Parmeet Sethi)and its expected to release in summer of 2010 and is going to begin shooting for her first venture outside of Yash Raj with Nikhil Advani and Akshay Kumar in Patiala House, scheduled to start in December 2009 and that's expected for a diwali release next year.[6]
