Two serious problems, name change needed

Firstly, besides the Virgin Mary, other saints as Jesus are sometimes depicted. Secondly, there are yard shrines which are are nearly identical to bathtub shrines but which are manufactured as such and are not made of recycled bathtubs. Suggest move to Yard shrine. 208.59.93.238 (talk) 08:09, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I note that "Bathtub Shrine" appears in the title of one reference and "Yard Shrine" appears in the title of two. Whenever possible, we seek to entitle articles to reflect and include all the relevant subject matter discussed therein. By being too specific, "Bathtub Madonna" completely fails in this regard. 208.59.93.238 (talk) 08:43, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am fine with a page for yard shrines, but i highly disagree with moving this page there. A Bathtub Mary is a well defined entity. It could be a shoot off page from Yard Shrines, but i feel it should stay its own article. It would be like saying that an article about Tickle Me Elmo should no longer exist and be moved into the page Elmo Dolls simple because that is a broader category it fits in. --Found5dollar (talk) 15:29, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I understand but disagree with your point. Tickle Me Elmo was a special case of an extremely well publicized toy. If an an article was made for yard shrine and existed alongside this one, people would soon request a merger. Should Bathtub Jesus, Bathtub Mary, and Bathtub Joseph each have a separate entity? Further, please note that the references, and most non-derogatory discussion of these shrines, seem to prefer the term Yard shrine. We must stop using the humorous nickname "Bathtub Madonna" because they aren't always made from bathtubs, they don't always include the Madonna, and this humorous nickname is less encyclopedic, neutral, and comprehensive than Yard shrine. At any rate, "Madonna" in the title of this article is not capitalized and that's a blatant error. --208.59.93.238 (talk) 19:18, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
