Asaduddin Owaisi (May 13, 1969)is an Indian politician and a member of Lok Sabha, Lower House of the Parliament of India. He was born in Hyderabad.
Early life
Born in Hyderabad to Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, an Indian politician and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad for six consecutive terms until stepping down in 2004 in favour of his elder son Asaduddin Owaisi.
He attended Hyderabad Public School and St. Mary's Junior College, Hyderabad. After graduating from Osmania University (B.A., Nizam College), he took a Law degree L.L.B. (Hons.) from the University of London, England. Political career
Asaduddin Owaisi made his political debut into the Lok Sabha from the constituency of Hyderabad by defeating his nearest rival G.Subash Chanderji of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with a margin of 100,145 votes. Earlier this seat was represented by his father Senior Owaisi. Asaduddin Owaisi was also a Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for ten years before becoming a Member of Parliament.
It was the seventh straight victory of the All India Majlis-e Ittihad al-Muslimin (MIM) in the Hyderabad seat. The seat was previously occupied by his father, MIM supremo Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi , who decided to pass on the mantle of MIM leadership in favour of his eldest son. The Party since then has been able to retain all the seven State Seats of the State Assembly from the constituencies of Charminar, Yakutpura, Chandrayangutta,Malakpet,Nampally,Bahadurpura,Karwan, and Asifnagar in the Old city and New city as well as the Hyderabad Central Lok Sabha constituency.
Media interests
His party also entered the Media World by launching their own Urdu Newspaper by the name Etemaad, which has already achieved the status of the second highest selling Urdu daily in the state of AP. He has also launched a Television News Channel, 4TV.
And in 2009 elections they have won 7 seats in Hyderabad covering almost the city including Hyderabad lok sabha.
Personal life
Asaduddin Owaisi is married and has five daughters.
