Maulvi Omar

My apologies for the spelling correction on Maulvi Omar. My spell check is set for American English. WP:SPELL says Brit and Amer English spellings are acceptable. Also, thanks for creating the article; it was long overdue. Cheers.--RDavi404 (talk) 13:51, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's alright :-), I did make some mistakes which you fixed so thanks for that. Pahari Sahib 13:53, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Tarkhan Personalities

Hi fellow editor, I noted your changes to the personalities here, at the Tarkhan article. I went through some of the ones deleted and found several articles and books on them. I thought it easier to revert and re-ad the ones with refrences back in. Please could you add your additions again (preferably with refrences). Also check the sections, because Bally Sagoo was included twice. Thanks--Sikh-History 09:53, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please excuse my edit, believe it or not I was only trying to amend Northwest Frontier Province to North-West Frontier Province. Pahari Sahib 20:10, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Pahari. This article is in need of improvement and am currently working on it. could you please watch this and help if you have the time. I feel the report which was suppressed from the Good people of Pakistan for 25 years deserves a good article on WP. Cheers Wikireader41 (talk) 01:42, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thank you kindly for you graciousness in helping me. ;-) 13:28, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Kashmir conflict and time line addition

Hey Pahari http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5i0E9yBND5g1PDDvIZvevHvHaFO1gD9A6KRAO1 need I say more I think the good people of India should be aware of the mass graves in Indian occupied Kashmir maybe you could add it to the kashmir conflict or kashmir conflict time line? cheers 86.156.213.239 (talk) 13:14, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

needless to say editing on behalf of Nangparbat is not permitted. Pahari you should consider getting your talk page protected since this vandal seems to have developed an affinity for you. 13:27, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Tehsils

I've begun creating a template by region like the following. Please can you try to start articles on the missing tehsils red linked. I've decided it is better to use a standard infobox for them but cut out most of the missing paramaters to make it simpler. Himalayan 14:57, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Tehsils of Punjab (Pakistan)

I find your comments very rude. Sorry but the state of most of these articles are terrible. Then when I see stubs on villages and even whole tehils are missing or the articles are completely unreferenced or contain unreliable sources (falling rain is far form a reliable source) I wonder why tehsils aren't given a priority over others. I've noticed recently you've started small stubs on villages, yet we are missing articles and any decent articles on tehsils. Fine, do whatever you want to, I thought you were interested in quality too.. If you would rather continue making small stubs on villages using falling rain rather than helping improve the district and tehsil articles that is your choice, I kindly asked if you could fill in the missing articles, that was all. Himalayan 10:51, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I find it odd that you of all people would complain about making articles on small stubs, you have done plenty. Regarding tehsils, I've created more of these than anyone else - also been involved in dealing with the district articles a far bit - been one of the top contributors. To have you come here telling me that I'm not doing enough is quite frankly annoying. (At least you amended this bit). What is wrong with creating stubs like Khasala Khurd and Khasala Kalan? Articles like Soanian link to small villages and thus should exist. Pahari Sahib 11:04, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And what was so rude about this? The only thing I've done wrong is spelt "my" as "may". Pahari Sahib 11:07, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The tone of your message. All I did was kindly notify you I had created a template and I had found some missing articles, could you please dtart them in your own time. Hardly bossing you about. Falling rain is not a reliable source. The information on altitude has been shown many times to be very incaccurate. One such example was a town on the coast of Madagascar which was given as being at an altitude of 300 metres! The site has been considered to be black listed on here. There is nothing wrong with creating new stubs, the problem with Pakistan is that they often attract people who speak very poor english and add huge lists of "famous" local people and lists of local schools in capital letters. You are doing great work on here, did I say you are not doing enough? I actually wish there were more editors like you on here. I just wonder why we are missing articles on whole tehsils when we have articles on small villages within them and why there isn't more of a project collaboration to try to clean up the articles on districts. To me it seems like it is only you and another editor maybe one other who are doing all the work on these articles, we really need more people to help clean them up is all I'm saying, some of them have serious issues. Himalayan 11:12, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah okay, maybe I misunderstood your tone, yes those "famous people" lists get on my nerves too. The reason for lack of tehsil articles (and other subdivisions) is that WP Pakistan is not as active as it should, it needs some coordination.Pahari Sahib 11:19, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and btw I think I sometimes kind of get article fatigue, I don't want to keep doing the same kind of articles again and again without trying other things. I'll look at a bunch of district articles or tehsils every now and again, occasionally make a few village stubs here and there and other articles. Pahari Sahib 11:22, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Me too, I can't edit the same articles for too long either. Hey, my comments were far from taking a swipe at you, you happen to be one of the very few here you are actually doing all the good work and trying to maintain some quality!! Of course I think we should have articles on the union councils, and I think you've done some awesome work in creating all those templates and starting them all. It is more a frustration more than anything how much these articles attract people who think it is a place to glorify the local policeman or taxi driver and say "It is very beautiful village and most famous in district" and then list 120 high schools in capital letters etc. It is very difficult to try to maintain a good standard, that is not a criticism of you, it is more a criticism of the overall project that more people aren't giving you support with these articles. I'm sorry if you felt I was pressurising you. Kind regards. Himalayan 11:25, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay :-) Pahari Sahib 11:30, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What I mean to say is that I think the reason why a lot of them are of a poorer quality is that you have so much work to do trying to maintain hundreds even thousands of articles that it is just too much work for you to write and reference everyone fully by yourself, so meanhwile while you do work on another district the articles on other places steadily attract IP edits who implant these lists of "famous" locals etc into the articles and degrade them. Given that you can't place thousands of articles on your watchlist I don't know how we can stop it happening.P.S I mean well with the templates. I spent quite some time trying to improve the city one didn't I? It is more a concern overall about consistency and maintaining a good standard. Yesterday I created a List of talukas in Sindh anyway, I'll add them to the template shortly. I think we should have templates linking tehsils/talukas together, agreed? Himalayan 11:44, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now this isn't an order, but do you know where Nawab Shah District is. Do we have the article in a different name? Himalayan 12:21, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is now the rather long winded Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto District Pahari Sahib 13:50, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine with me. You're here to improve the encyclopedia and that's what you're doing. To what Nangparbat was talking about. I don't simply revert because he thinks I'm anti-Pakistan. But it's just standard WP policy to revert actions by banned users to enforce a ban. I hope that this didn't cause you to think differently. Help Undo Move

Please help!

Barnstar for your work

The Pakistan Barnstar of Excellence
Awarded to Pahari Sahib. for his awesome hard work towards Pakistan location articles. Your contribution to wikipedia in this area is greatly appreciated. I've been browsing and we owe you at least a lot of credit and respect for your efforts at starting articles like Abbottabad Tehsil and creating union council articles. Given the large workload and the few editors who are supporting you, you are doing a really good job so far. I know it might seem at times that I am not on your side so to speak but I am, I just want to see consistency and these articles eventually looking as good as possible. Keep up the good work! Himalayan 10:19, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's OK, you do a lot of good work. If you could add the district and tehsil parameters to the articles thought like Dhadar and leave an empty parameter image_skyline = for people who may add images later this would be useful. Himalayan 12:13, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay Pahari Sahib 07:16, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't aware you were a very active contributor to Austrian articles on wikipedia... Himalayan 20:44, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mughal Empire help

Hey pahari since you edit allot of Pakistani pages I wondered If you could look at the Mughal empire page which is being attacked by POV pushers who keep removing images of the Shalimar Gardens in Pakistan with Agra fort and keep adding pro Indian texts which make out that Mughals are Indians only and have nothing to do with Pakistan I susupect banned pov Indian user dewan357 has called on one of his mates to edit on his behalf he started all of this mess on the article by pushing pro Indian pov on the article cheers Napar45 (talk) 18:46, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More info it has now been prooven that a sock of a banned user has been editing the Mughal empire page here is the vandals edit:[1] he is removing all trace of Pakistan from the article and coming out with pathetic excuses stating they are less known pictures I have tried to remove the socks edit but he is being backed by user AdjustShift and Elockid who keep supporting the sock it has been prooven he is a sick yet they preserved his edit by protecting the page and re adding his trash could you please remove his edits and restore the article to its normal state before it was attacked by the socks of Mrpontiac1 several of his socks have been attacking the Mughal empire page here are a few: [2] (Sparrowman007), [3] (Bilawalo) he must not be allowed to push his pov on any article infact hes not allowed to edit at all he is banned please revert his trash cheers Napar45 (talk) 09:49, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think Pahari knows it's you. You blatantly seem like Nangparbat. The main reason you were reverting Aamirshkh edits because you thought he was Dewan which you made it clear on NuclearWarfare's talk page. You did not know about Bilawalo or Sparrowman. You clearly reverted them to push your own POV with this user Mupper3445 and further continued your defiance of your ban with this user Dilawere123 which popped up almost right after Mupper was indef blocked. Your were clearly not reverting socks which that what you stated yesterday, you were pushing your own POV again, your edits were not at good faith from your edit summaries, and you continue to defy your ban. I think that's enough said. AdjustShift and I reverted your edits because per WP: DUCK because those accounts were socks of yours (Nangparbat) and AdjustShift semi-protected the page to keep you, a banned user, from editing. Hkelkar sock?

User elockid seems like hes been working undercover for banned user Hkelkar hes re adding his original edits which I removed Im sure you hate Hkelkar and his pov so you will take action against user elockid aiding yet another sock p.s I do strongly beleive hes anti pakistani 86.162.69.86 (talk) 13:55, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[4] Here is the edit made by Hkelkar I re added it and provided sources Its not fair that Indian banned users get away with editing just because there are Indian admins backing them 86.162.69.86 (talk) 13:56, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As usual you're wrong again. You are evading your block and ban. I am enforcing your block and ban. Get the picture or are you still too wrapped up in your POV editing? You were blocked yesterday from this IP 86.151.122.53 (talk · contribs). If anyone is to call a hypocrite and a liar that is you. Take a look at MrPontiac's sock puppetry case page. Absolutely no leniency should be shown for your behavior. Elockid (Talk·Contribs) 14:04, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So now your fooling yourself again? Hkelkar isnt banned? lol pathetic he evaded his block and was allowed to keep his pov edits only because Indian admins dealt with his care aka they let him edit but then protect the page so I cant remove his edits now please dont tell me you havent heard of Hkelkar before? I am actually doing your job you should of removed Hkelkars edits not mine I did not add anything to the articles Hkelkar did now jog on 86.162.69.86 (talk) 14:07, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know about Hkelkar and you've been stalking me and Thegreyanomoly or Nishkid. How else would you know the target articles were reverted. However you are still not allowed to edit. Quote from you "Blocked users are not supposed to evade their block". Why are you doing this then? Elockid (Talk·Contribs) 14:19, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So im editing now? I only REMOVED Hkelkars edits how many times do I have to say it i provided proof yet you chose to ignore it why? because you know Hkelkar edited the article first and his edit was preserved by protection of the articles by Indian admins such as Nishkid and monkey if a non indian admin bumped into Hkelkar they would remove his edits full stop no question yet nishkid and monkey secretly protected the articles and let Hkelkars edits live on the articles. Answer this is it correct to let a few banned users edit? or not let any banned user edit? If you beleive in the first then I will continue to remove Hkelkars edits however if you believe no banned user should edit you should remove Hkelkars edits If only a neutral admin could take up this case and not Indian admins 86.158.179.189 (talk) 14:30, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
He's not working undercover for anyone, he's just identified you as banned user and thus reverting you. You do have a point however about the other editor, there needs to be a greater degree of parity when dealing with various users. Pahari Sahib 19:23, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello sir, thank you for your contributions to the Islamabad article. I have been working on the article for quite some time, trying to make it FA class. However, there are a lot of things missing and need to be fixed. I have requested a copyedit for the article here and before requesting a peer review I was wondering if you can take a look at the article. There are certain things that need to be reviewed;

  • The est. population of city in 2009, you can see we have 3 different figures in the article, I am not sure which one is nearest to the actual est.
  • History section lacks a recent history header. I was unable to collect enough material for it.
  • Images, lack of good media.
  • Economy section needs to be expanded and Politics section needs to be added, after all its the capital.
  • And also is there a need for a tourism section since most of the material in that section is already covered in culture and cityscape sections?

It will be really useful if you can help me with any of these. Regards Samar (Talk . Contributions) 14:35, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some info to the article, will try again later too. Things like summits and meetings could be added to the politics section, also perhaps some more info on the earthquake and the Marriott attack. Pahari Sahib 07:07, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That would be really helpful sir, thank you. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 15:45, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since you edited Turi (tribe), it looks like you might be familiar with the subjects Dragnove sus (talk · contribs) is editing. I have redirect Qutb Shah as the article relates to his family or clan. The info is covered in the legacy section not really anything here that warrants rewriting as a separate subject. Pahari Sahib 06:43, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Info

Hi I have removed most of the blatant pov in the Separatist movements of Pakistan article such as [5] this diff shows the user adding some terribly blatant pov material such as "The formation of Pakistan was based on Jinnah's theory that the Indian Muslim was a distinct nation, and held together by the common cause of hatred of Hindu India". I have removed most of Yogesh edits and now have been met with another user with a clear agenda User:Qazmlp1029 he has been trolling around article adding pro Indian edits and sadly has picked out this article even a blind man could see that Yogesh is a Indian pov pusher so I have removed his edits cheers. Perhaps it could be added to the Match fixing article. Not sure if there is enough info for a standalone article - but if there is more controversy then maybe. Pahari Sahib 10:39, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well although there is no need for a separate article, alot have been said about it, from Simon Taufel's alleged biased decisions (e.g giving Umar Akaml out when he clearly had played a shot, and not giving Elliot out when he was on 0), to role of media. M.A Shah even has asked the PCB to consult the ICC on this issue. It's just spinning out of control. See this Umpires say sorry to Umar. Now PCB is pushing for PCB to push for video referrals in ODIs. Well I could expected Gould but Simon doing such a thing is just not acceptable. A top it there is Younis Khan cont. This need a large chunk of wikispace, if written in proper manner. It's proving to be similar in nature to Merra's case, a long soap.--yousaf465' 04:51, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think its lack of interest - it's lack of Wikipedians. Let's admit it - the number of active Wikipedians from Pakistan is abysmally low. Those of us who contribute are sitting overseas (me for example). If I was in Karachi right now, I would've definitely attented. 121.222.226.46 (talk) 17:20, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Karachi meetup (October 2009)

Correcting Headers?

Dear Pahari,

I appreciate the note you left me. It is nice to meet you. My husband is also from Pakistan. Where in Pakistan are you from? I am interested to know your position with Wikipedia. Are you the developer?
I am trying to correct some things on this page.

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Subject:Linguistics . See where it says "Scrapebooks"? It's supposed to be "scrapbooks", no "e" in it. Also when you click on it, the same error is in the Title/header and I don't know how to correct that. If you know how, would you mind correcting it?

I am impressed by your great awards! Hopefully one day I will also earn one as I plan to contribute about Pakistan.

Kind regards, Sheila Wall-Wahab Penlady (talk) 04:58, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not a developer, just a user who has done a bit of editing ;-), that page is protected, best speak to Adrignola who protected the page. Regards, Pahari Sahib 11:56, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

can you take a look at this page?

I would appreciate your help with this Talk:Saraghrar. You look like an active Pakistani here in Wikipedia. Thank you (Ketabtoon (talk) 03:50, 15 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Nepal Zone

Hi, I was doing some work on Nepal infoboxes and I found {{Infobox Nepal Zone}}. For uniformity, I converted the backend to use {{Infobox division}}. After that, I noticed that it was only being used in a couple articles, so I just added {{Infobox division}} boxes to all the Zone articles. Again, for uniformity, I converted the remaining {{Infobox Nepal Zone}} articles to use {{Infobox division}} instead. I hope you don't mind. Do you have any objections to deleting the lingering {{Infobox Nepal Zone}} as it is now unused? Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 15:46, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Pahari Sahib. I am coming to you on the recommendation of another editor who shared that you might be of assistance. For background I will direct you here. I do not know if this article needs to be redirected to Kot Najibullah or if the article should be brought to the AfD notice board. I am assuming that the article is a duplicate on the word of two editors that should know more about the subject than I. If you could check into this and give your advice on what action needs to be taken it would be very helpful. If I have misinterpreted the situation at all, please let me know. Thanks for your time Tiderolls 17:35, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Kot Najeebullah

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Kot Najeebullah. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kot Najeebullah. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:18, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Pahari Sahib! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 7 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 4 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
