South Bend is a train station in South Bend, Indiana. It is served by Amtrak Lake Shore Limited service to and from Chicago, Boston and New York, and Capitol Limited service to and from Chicago and Washington D.C..
The station was built in 1970 as the terminus of the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District's South Shore Line until November 1992, when that line was relocated to the South Bend Regional Airport (see South Bend Airport (NICTD)). Railroads such as the New York Central Railroad and the Grand Trunk Western Railroad used South Bend Union Station, but Amtrak and the City of South Bend vouched for the use of the current station.
