Molecule is a fictional character, a DC Comics superhero created by Geoff Johns and Tony Daniel. In name and appearance, he is a teenage counterpart of The Atom. Molecule first appeared (as a scrapbook image) in Teen Titans #38 (2006).

Fictional character biography

At this time, Molecule's true name and origin are unknown. He was a member of the Teen Titans during the so-called "one year gap" between the Infinite Crisis and One Year Later storylines. A picture of him in a scrapbook made by fellow Titan Raven depicts Molecule as a few inches tall, leaning against a paper clip. His costume is a green version of the one worn by Ray Palmer, The Atom, when he was a member of the Titans.

Molecule's first "on-panel" appearance takes place in 52: Week Thirty-Two. Standing on the shoulder of the heroine, Argent, Molecule appears around six inches tall (much larger than a paper clip), implying that he has the ability to alter his size, rather than being permanently miniaturized. Whether he possesses the ability to return to human proportions is not known. Dialogue in Week Thirty-Four reveals that Molecule and Argent had been a couple but have since broken up.

In Terror Titans #1, Molecule is part of a group of teenaged heroes attacked by the Terror Titans, to be captured and put into the arena at the Dark Side Club. When Molecule tried to escape, Persuader chopped him in two with her atomic axe, presumably killing him. http://img3.imagebanana.com/img/7x73s1s/Molecule.JPG
