"Gypsy Woman" is a song written by Hilary Duff, Haylie Duff and Ryan Tedder, and produced by Tedder for Hilary Duff's third studio album, Dignity (2007). It features an excerpt from Winston Churchill's "This was their finest hour" speech in 1940, after the Battle of France and before the Battle of Britain; the line sampled is "the battle of France is over".[citation needed] The song was originally planned as the fourth single from the album, however Hollywood Records were unwilling to spend any more money on album promotion once Duff went on tour. Even though the song was never released as a single, a rare promotional album was released in selected areas, including only 2 tracks.
