The International Parliament for Safety and Peace (IPSP), also known as International States Parliament for Safety and Peace (ISPSP), is an international organization based in Palermo, Sicily, Italy whose stated intention is the promotion of world safety and peace.[1][2] Its president is Palermo-native Vittorio (Viktor Ivan) Busá, who also claims to hold the titles of metropolitan and archbishop of Białystok for the Belorussian Orthodox Church, president of the Republic of Danzig, and Grand Khan of Tartary and Mongolia.[1][3][4][5]

Workings

The IPSP additionally gives medals for artistic merit and pursuit of peace. Examples for "senators for life" are president of the Gambia Yahya Jammeh,[6][7] and Cochini-Indian vocalist K. J. Yesudas,[8][9] while the late President of Gabon Omar Bongo received a peace trophy in 2002.[10] The organization also issues "diplomatic passports". The Council of the European Union, and the authorities of Portugal and the Isle of Man have described these as "fantasy documents".[11][12][13][14]

The IPSP had an observer in attendance at the 13th meeting of the Technical Preperatory Committee of the Whole of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Abeba in 1992.[15] IPSP claims recognition under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961) and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (1963).[16][17]

Jammeh can now join a long list of dubious political characters that share a common platform as cruel and vicious murderers. But, in addition, The International Parliament for Safety and Peace also awards college certificates that include doctoral degrees to people who have never set a foot in a university lecture room.
