Elliot Grandin (born October 17, 1987 in Caen) is a French footballer of Congolese origin who plays for Bulgarian PFC CSKA Sofia.

Career

Grandin began his career at his hometown SM Caen, which won the 2005 Meridian Cup and was promoted in 2007 to Ligue 1. The right-sided attacking midfielder came through the ranks at Caen, joining OM in January 2008 for 400,000 €uro. This season he has made 11 appearances, almost all of them as a substitute, claiming two goals. Grandin is a "dribbler" and the striker can also play as a central attacking midfielder. He is a young player with good potential, since his arrival from Caen, he has been a substitute but when he plays he is useful and effective. His principal quality is his technique. Unfortunately, he needs to be more professional in his personal life [citation needed].

Grandin moved now on 30 January 2009 on loan to Ligue 1 side Grenoble Foot 38, between until the end of the season 30 June 2009[1].

On 18th August 2009 it was revealed by L'Equipe Elliot would go on trial at Premier League club Stoke City starting from the 23rd August and Stoke City have first option on the player for around €1m. On 2 September 2009 Olympique Marseille have released the forward [2], who recently had an unsuccessful trial period at Stoke City. He was a free agent, but was coveted by teams from Kazakhstan, Bulgaria and Romania. On the 5th of January 2010 he was reportedly in negotiations with Rapid Bucharest and is believed to be signing with the Romanian team in the next days [3]. The French player, however chose to sign a contract with Bulgarian CSKA Sofia on January 20, 2010 for 2 years.
