Ust-Shchuger (Template:Lang-ru), formerly known as Ust-Shchugor (Усть-Щугор),[1] is a rural locality (a village) in the Komi Republic, Russia,[2] located at an elevation of Template:M to ft[3] near the confluence of the Pechora and Shchuger Rivers. It holds the European low temperature record of Template:C to F, recorded on December 31, 1978.[3] The Shchugor River was once a minor route into Siberia. From its headwaters one could cross the Ural Mountains to reach the Northern Sosva River thereby allowing travel from the Pechora River to the Ob River.
