Reynold Garcia (born on 1974 in Samar), known as Pooh, is a Filipino singer-comedian.
Career
Pooh first became a hit among patrons of Library, the popular comedy sing-along bar in Malate where he was an in-house performer. With nightly practice, his segment billed as "Ayaw kong maging boxer. Gusto kong maging beauty queen!" [I don’t want to be a boxer. I want to be a beauty queen!] became a favorite among the habitués and has already spread through the country. His stints on local TV has propelled him to greater heights and now his name has become a byword in the world of comic impersonation. He also has shows in Punchline, Laffline, and Metro Bar.
When asked if he is in favor of Pacquiao's decision to enter politics, Pooh said that it was the champ’s decision and respects it.
Pooh got his stage name from Winnie-the-Pooh. He recalls being the unofficial entertainer of his classmates during high school. Whenever they would go out, his usual line was "Akin ang chika, sa inyo ang pera" ["You pay the bills and I will entertain you with stories.]"
Pooh has bought a house and a car out of his earnings. He is also sending a number of nieces and nephews to school.
Though a dynamite performer, Pooh is a quiet person offstage. From time to time, he would look back and reflect on how things have changed for him. “I don’t know how long this joy ride is going to last, that’s why I’m making the most out of these wonderful times,” he intoned.
He was the 2006 and 2007 awardee for Aliw Award best male stand up comedian. He was again nominated last 2008.
