PRO.BG is the fourth Bulgarian national television channel. As of 04 July 2009, TV2 was relaunched as PRO.BG. PRO.BG, along with sports channel Ring.BG and radio PRO.FM are owned by the US media conglomerate CME (80% stake) and Bulgarian share-holders (20% stake).

Programme

PRO.BG is an entertainment-based channel with news programs aired daily at 18.45, and also at 17.00 and 21.45 (Monday to Friday). The channel (along with RING.BG) also holds the rights to the Bulgarian Football Championship.

Among PRO BG's most popular programs are the Bulgarian version of Wife Swap, "Outsmart the Blondes", daily talk-show "That's Right", and its news programs.

PRO.BG also broadcasts the Champions League, and holds an exclusive multi-year contract with Warner Entertainment for Bulgaria.

Coverage

PRO.BG is broadcast via analogue transmission in the largest 27 cities and towns in Bulgaria, which in effect covers more than 70% of Bulgaria's territory. The channel is also carried via DTH and cable platforms nationally.

Future development

According to Bulgarian broadcasting law, a channel which has analogue transmission of 70% or over across the country's territory, automatically receives the right to be carried via digital terrestrial platforms nationally ("must-carry").
