Hairspray 2 is the upcoming 2010 sequel to the 2007 film Hairspray, set to be released in mid-July 2010. It has been announced that Adam Shankman will return to direct the film and that Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman will write the musical scores. John Waters is currently writing the film.
