Tha Carter IV is the upcoming eighth studio album by rapper Lil Wayne.

Background

Wayne mentioned the possibility of this album as early as September 2008.[1] He began recording this album in early October 2008,[2] but later that month he claimed that he did not want this to follow Tha Carter III immediately.[3] In early 2009, Wayne changed his position; he stated that he will release this album in 2009, the same year as his rock album Rebirth, around the end of the year.[4][5][6][7] Production duo Play-N-Skillz has been tapped to contribute production.[8] Birdman stated that Tha Carter IV will be packaged with Rebirth as a double disc album.[9] However, Wayne denied this idea saying that "Tha Carter IV deserves Tha Carter IV".[10] After several rumors stating that the album would be released in 2009, Wayne told Billboard that the album would be released in 2010.[11] However, due to Wayne's upcoming jail sentence, he stated that the album would be released in 2011 shortly after his release.[12] It has been reported that he has completed 20 songs for the album.[13] Two music videos were shot in February 2010 and has been confirmed to be on Carter IV though the tracks remains nameless.[14] Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive.! haha im in mrs. trigo's class
