someone should reformat that paragraph, and probably make it into an article of its own. also the quote needs to be properly formatted, and references need to be added as appropriate. the quote itself is from a message from FreeBSD's fortune login gem, which also included the original wording of my paraphrase. If anyone knows how to / can reference ooold open source computer software, go for it. there are a few other references to this on the internet which could serve as potential references, and someone should dig up that Realist article / reference it an 'link' to it.
